as for Religion and sport not going together. I agree. Theres LOTS of places that religion has no place imo, but its still there.
I remember doing a report on religion and sport in HS. cant remember it really other then its definately there and effects many people in good and bad ways.

Dont you see why these pics are a problem? The government of IRan is more concerned with what they are wearing than how they play. This is a disgusting symbol of how wrong islam is. These women are FORCED to dress like this.
Lets not even get into the fact that we should be happy theya re even allowed to play.. it is universally accepted that it would be wrong to deny women to play any sport.
Why cant MEN cover themselves up like these women?

As sad as this is, I think it's really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Islam's mistreatment of women.
It's actually shocking to me how so many self-described feminists will look the other way when it comes to this particular issue. Apparently it's okay to beat, rape, and kill women as long as you're not caucasian (at least that's the precedent set by the OJ Simpson trial)...
Ok, I'm being unnecessarily cynical there, but I would really like to see the feminists spend less time griping about pay scales and more time paying attention to the real issues confronting women today. |
