buy Aldwell And Schachter Harmony and VOice leading book.
Starts everything from scratch and gets to the point where you can basically write a symphony if you feel like it.

do you think it will take long time to get good at it?

it is fairly easy knowledge. Would take you maybe a year to learn all the basic building blocks.

Music is the language of feeling...there are no rules....you play what you feel.....books and theory make music complicated......when in reality, music is simple......did mozart have a music teacher ??
DJ Initial
Actually he did, his father taught him :D

Could someone post a progression from a big trance song? That would help me to understand much better...

pretty much

pretty much every composer in the last 400 years learned it from either a mentor , parent ..... you get the idea

Beethoven took composition lessons , so did mozart , so did Bach. All the greats did. Music is based upon rules. How composers use and manipulate those rules is where the art comes into play

only recently within the last 50 years has this changed. And the only reason i suppose they get away with it is that they do incredibly easy music. Not saying it is bad, just easy as far as theory is concerned.

I am not saying that these composers always followed the rules. I'm not saying you need to know theory to make music. I am saying that knowing these rules are an invaluable tool and will make music making so much easier and intuitive.

what I meant by rules was...there are no rules to how you play your instrument to make the sounds........and what I meant by, did mozart have a teacher....was.....who taught the first musician...not that mozart was the first musician...but a master at his instrument.

if you have ever watched 2001: a space odyssey, the scene where the ape picks up a bone and creates the first tool for mankind......there were no rules and no teachers...you see ....or was it that strange monolith that gave the ape the intelligence...I never really understood what that monolith was...maybe our intelligence originates from another planet ....well mine certainly does

this got me thinking so I was sidetracked to this site......

2001:space odyssey meaning...
