| Yikes! Theo Epstein is no longer the GM of the red sox! |

I'll start with what I'd love the Mets team to look like next year. Obviously, I'm trying to be as realistic as possible.
C-Ramon Castro
Eff Ramon Hernandez. He is not worth $10M a year. Sure, he's a great player, but Castro truned out to be pretty damn good when given a decent number of at-bats. Benjie Molina's also going to get a lot of money... and neither is he worth it.
1B-Mike Jacobs
While I'd prefer a masher at 1B, Jake has proved throughout the minors and his short stint in the Majors that he can hit. Plus, with what I have in store for the other positions, if Jake sucks next year, the other positions can pick him up.
2B-Rafael Furcal
The second that I saw he was willing to move to 2B (or so he says), he became my favorite off-season target. The combo of he, Reyes, and Beltran at the top of the order screams success. A nice .280/.350/.420 guy for the two spot is EXACTLY what the Mets need. Plus, he + Reyes + Beltran equals one fantasic defense up the middle... which they'll need as I move on. :p
3B-David Wright
Duh. According to a stats website, he was the 16th most productive player in the Majors this year and 2nd best 3B behind Alex Rodriguez.
SS-Jose Reyes
He STUNK at the begining of the year. But as it went on, his discipline improved so much, he looked like a different player at the plate. He should only start getting better. Scored 99 runs after only getting on base 30% of the time.
LF-Manny Ramirez
Do I think it will happen? Not anymore. But... if he is on the market, the Mets have to go hard after him. I really hope they can get him and still hold onto Lastings Milledge, but we'll see. Any other minor leaguers are fair game when it comes to Manny. Especially if the Sox can chip in some dough.
CF-Carlos Beltran
I think he's do for a nice rebound year. If he gives the Mets anything near to his career averages, along with Manny, they will be a force in the NL.
RF-Cliff Floyd
Unfortunately, this is where he'd have to play as Manny is a much worse fielder than Cornelius is. The Mets need him though as he is the only real LH threat.
Rotation (boring):
Pedro Martinez
Tom Glavine
Kris Benson
Steve Trachsel
Jae Seo
Bullpen:
Billy Wagner (they need him bad. oh so bad.)
Aaron Heilman
Other than that, I really don't care too much. Just those two. Ha!
In anycase, feel free to discuss this or what you desire for your own team. |

i don't think the mets have the payroll for that team ...
:wtf:..
then again, they can cross the ocean, and loot george steinbrenner's safe for a cool couple of million for that lineup .. hahahahha ..
too bad for the red sox and theo epstein .. i heard that epstein wanted to be by himself, and didn't want to be told what to do anymore ...
and sammy sosa is in the market .. who wants ol' slammin slammy ??
wouldn't be surprised the cubs try to pick up sosa, after attempting to lure ramirez ..
cubs in 2006 !!!!!!

c- ramon Castro
i think Castro deserved the chance to get to play,at least unlike Piazza he can throw guys out and agree with you on this
1B- Lyle Overbay
Mets have been flirting with this name for awhile, but i have no problem with Jacobs....please god don't let Kevin Millar anywhere near this team
2B-Alfonso Soriano
i know they are wanting to blow that new revenue and Texas more than likely wants out of that contract
3B- David Wright
love his hustle and grit, now if only he can become a better baserunner
SS- Jose reyes
he is the most irritating player to watch ,due to his inconsistency and injury woes
outfield i think stays the same
rotation:
Glavine
Martinez
Benson
trachsel
and i think there is a chance they may go after another arm like Jarrod Washburn.Real glad we traded Kazmir for Zambrano :whip:
Bullpen:
Get wagner and Guillermo mota,Wickman ,B.J.Ryan...hell anybody but those stiffs from last year |

I heard about this. I wonder why he didn't want to stay. Is he looking at other clubs? |

Being the new kid on block, the Nationals have a lot to improve. They're decent with two pitching aces Livan Hernandez and John Patterson. Hector Carrasco and Esteban Loiazia are free agents but GM Jim Bowden is trying to secure contract deals for them both.
Also A.J. Burnett might be a likely candidate but I doubt the Nats can pick him up. Also on the grapevine is Rafael Furcal, but chances are we won't get him either.
There's a lot of areas we need to strengthen and improve on. Hitting being number one. Our offense was just sloppy and we couldn't capitalize on any rally efforts. Signing sluggers from the minors is not simply the answer, it's better coaching techniques and showing how to hit the ball.
I'd just like to see the Nats have a better record next season then they did this season, althought I was quite surprised and amazed with their 81-81 record. I think they just need better improvements in all areas. I don't expect them to be getting any big name sluggers or players or pitchers, but I do expect them to improve the group of guys they got right now. |

| MLB awards will be announced next week. I wonder who will be getting what. AL NL MVP, rookie of the year, Manager of the year and CY young awards. |

| As I've gotten older and wiser, I've realized that the MLB Awards mean absoultely nothing. Especially Gold Gloves... |

| quote: | | Rumor has it Ichiro has grown tired of the Mariners' losing ways and wants out, but Seattle-area reporters aren't publicizing it because they like dealing with the Japanese hitting star on a daily basis. They're hoping the All-Star changes his mind before his request for a trade becomes a demand. |
Oh my... the Mets need to get on that and damn quick too. |
