I think there has been a lot of speculation but not a lot of actual activity. A few small trades but nothing too much.
Soriano to Dodgers is big rumor. Dodgers seemed to be involved with a lot of guys. ie: Zito, Bobby Abreu
Red Sux got Mark Loretta for Doug Mirabelli today. Juan Pierre to Cubs. Pierre has a weak arm and a low OBP. Not my ideal Yankee CF, I'm happy they didn't get him. He'd be a glorified Tony Womack and would have batted 9th anyway.
Jesus Caveman is talking about loving NYC only cuz he wants to drive the price up for Boston. Bleh.. I don't want his weak arm either. 7 years? Puh-leeze!
Human windmill Adam Dunn to Orioles is a rumor. Frank Thomas was declined arbitration. Bernie will be too I think later today. |

Anyone who wouldn't take Adam Dunn because he strikes out 200 times a year is CUUURRAAAAAZYYY. :p
I'd take 200 Ks over 100 Ks and 100 Ground Outs any day... |

Soriano traded to Nationals... for three scrubs. Wow
About Dunn, then I imagine you a big fan of Jay Buhner cuz Dunn had an average of around .240-.250 last year. It's boom or bust. Not really my type of player. He really doesn't drive in a ton of runs even though he hits 40+ HR's a year. Seems a little overrated to me. Jay Buhner used to hit .220 with 40 bombs and my best friend, a Mariners fan, hated the guy cause he was tired of 1/4 1 HR, 1 run, 1 RBI at the best. That's only in 1/4 games.
Mark Teixeira is like 5 times the better player. |

| I knew Johnny Damon was an idiot... but he continues to prove why the state of Florida public schools are in trouble... but regardless, the man asks for seven year deal, which is outrageous, then he starts to play BAD AGENT FOR HIMSELF... guy is a meathead... |

a slow roller with the bases loaded is better than a whiff and miss. I'd rather have the contact hitter. |

Edgar Renteria to the Braves for 3B prospect Andy Marte.
With Renteria and Ramirez are now both gone, now who plays short in Boston?? |

Orlando Cabrera back from Anaheim. That's the rumor. |

A fast roller with the bases loaded and 1 out is an inning ending Double Play. A K with the bases loaded and 1 out gives someone else a chance. |

| The object of the game of baseball as a hitter is to NOT make an out. Sure, Dunny strikes out more than anyone else. BUT... he gets on base more than, almost, every one else. Dunn makes an out 6/10 at-bats, where as most other players make outs 6.6/10 at-bats. But, I realize this argument is a lost cause. :p |

I already have a bet with my friend that Wilkerson puts up better numbers than Soriano. I'm not sure exactly how it's structured yet.
But, believe me, Soriano is going to be HORRENDOUS playing 81 games at RFK. HORRENDOUS. |

::WHEW:: I'm glad that Renteria for Marte trade went down. Marte is going to be real, real good. Though, it would have been nice to have the two best Under-30 3B in the same division. |
