| Well, it's happened. The vote of no confidence goes through and Paul Martin will ask the GG to dissolve the Parliament and call an election scheduled some time in Jan. |

Oh come now, don't tell me you're actually concerned about this "waste of tax payers money" considering that this non-confidence motion happened BECAUSE of over $30 billion in wasted taxpayer's money!?
I'll admit, I too am cynical about the election, and as much as it sickens me I do believe that Canadians will vote in another Liberal government. But the other parties HAD to make the motion, otherwise they would have lost all their credibility and any chance at winning the next election. |

I agree that it had to be done.....if Harper stands any chance of getting elected he had to get this completed....the only problem is I think he is too late. If harper doesn't win then there will be some Conservative heads rolling. |

He's way too late. He should have been on the LPC's ass 6 months ago! Forget about the non-confidence vote - he should have been on TV and out campaigning, making sure everybody knew about all the scandals and also making sure they knew about his own party's platform.
That is one of the biggest problems I've observed... whether or not the Conservatives are fit to lead the country, many Canadians respond with a knee-jerk reaction because they don't know or understand the Conservative platform.
It's irritating that the Conservatives can't seem to find competent leadership. I'd still prefer Harper's Conservatives over any Liberal government, but I don't understand how he can speak so well in Parliament and be such a outside of it. And as usual, the Conservatives will most likely pay for their passivity with another election loss. |

With this upcoming election I think we all need to take a little extra time and really inform ourselves on their platforms. I am willing to give the Martin Liberals a chance but I'm not gonna vote liberal just because it's a Martin Party.
Personally, I don't trust Harper but I am will to listen to what his party has to say.
With this great thing called the internet we all have access to the platforms of all parties and we should all take a few moments to read them. There is nothing I hate more then people voting who don't know what the parties stand for and just vote because they don't like this party so they vote for the other one. That is a big reason why the liberals won the last election. |

Just a question:
If the Liberals are yet again voted into a minority government, can there be another vote of no confidence? What if that vote goes through too, and the government is disolved, can they be relected?
Can it just go on, and on and on? |

so your willing to give the liberals, who have already proved themselves untrustworthy, a chance?? But you dont trust harper? lol please explain this? When has harper ever been untrustworthy? And why would you not give him a chance when you would give the lying liberals a chance? I hear a few people saying you cant trust harper, but i I think because his party is new and most people dont really know their full platform like the liberals, people mistake that for him hiding what his real plans are which is total bs
anyways i'd like to hear what u have to say? |

yea it can happen again, again, again but usually all the parties try to work together and make the government work in a minority. Their goal isn't to bring down the leading party, they only do that when they have to. |

my prediction:
- an extremely low voter turnout due to extremely cold weather
- another Liberal minority/majority government
