Waitresses r people too!

grrr, one of my biggest pet peeves!! I work as a waitress and once in a while we get the customer who forgets their manners. Hes sitting down and i walk up to him with menu and cutlery in hand, i go to say some form of a greeting and before i can finish, without even looking up he starts naming out his order, " over easy, sausage, ..." yadda yadda. ...buddy, if ur sitting down to eat, im sure u have the time to remind yourself im human too and that it wont kill you or effect ur appetite (unless i havnt slept all night:P) to say hello! Please u guys. If u or anyone u know has that habit...
its very irritating to the servers.Besides, if were irritated we wont give u the service we would have otherwise...and u might get more than what u ordered with ur food:tongue2
Fell free to post some stories of rudeness from ur workplaces! maybe some of who have actually said something back to a rude client/customer??:) |

i have a 101 horror stories from waitressing/bartending. at the private golf club where i worked for 2.5 years us girls had a inside joke called "the stephenson". it was a move a(70 year old) man invented..where he'd put his arm around our waist, in a seemingly innocent manner and then try to cup your breast, or when he moved away, slide it over your ass...like we didn't FEEL it!!!
or a guy who got drunk at a mens golf closing with all the male members..and proceeded to tell me that i would amount to nothing b/c i didn't want to ever be a cop (he was an ex-cop)
or another member, who also was a member of the church i'm excommunicated from, who got drunk (against the church rules) and told me i was going to go to hell and that i was ruining my parents life blah blah blah until other members had to rescue me away from him
or the time i yelled out in the kitchen to another server.."trade you some dick for ..i know you got it on ya"..which was overheard by all there old bridge ladies..who freaaaaaaaaaaked..but i laughed
oh i love the service industry..seriously!!! |

Having worked fast food before where people are ruder to you than waiters/waitresses at restaurants, I feel your pain.
It's just silly what people take other people's courtesy for granted, yet give none in return.:whip: |
