You really start realizing how rude people can be. All it takes is one to make ur entire day ty.

I work in a store helping customers all day long (and putting stock out). And I have realized one thing.. about 90% of costumers are freakin retarded. Maybe its not the same when it comes to the food industry, but im sure you girls/guys have to deal with big all day long as well.

Also one question, how much do you usually get as tip for lets say, around a $15-20 meal?

agreed many customers are s. You need to have a tough skin to handle it. Its not a job for everyone which is why some people shouldnt be working with customers.

the worst are waitresses who treat you like and then still expect a tip.

I am one of the rare people who tip very well for good service but make up for it by leaving nothing for horrible service.

Thats originally how tipping was meant to be practiced.

Good point.

For every complaint that a waiter/waitress has about a difficult customer, there are probably 10 customers with a complaint about a lousy waiter/waitress - and 9 out of those 10 will probably leave a 15% tip anyway.

Success in any service industry depends on your ability to keep your cool and be friendly even if the customer is rude. I've seen people get fired for failing to do that.

Out of the 10 complaning customers, how many of their complaints are actually justified...Customers love to be difficult even when they are in the wrong.

i know i am at customer service because i can't pretend to be nice if someone is an . which is why, thankfully, i have moved on. but i have the utmost respect for people that can do it, and do it well, because it's really hard work dealing with idiots all day.

All of them.

The customer is always right.

If you haven't internalized that yet, you should not be in (or anywhere near) the service industry or the customer service business.
