Ofcourse you've seen them a thousand times, after all they are the best of 2005.Also almost every TA dj's mixes have them, which makes them overplayed. So it's just natural,it ain't Armin's fault :p

Actually it is his fault. Take away Asot and what would most of the people on here listen to?

I actually really like listening to these Megamixes... I don't see what people have against them, its like hearing alot of popular songs mixed together, with some really neat mashups and some nice transitions done.

In particular, I like the mashup of "Carrie Skipper - Time Goes By" with "Mark Otten - So Serene (Menno De Jong's Fierce Dub Mix)".

It sounds really nice (its on CD1)

Gimmick.

Lame.

End of story.

why is this a gimmick?

the time it took for avb and his management to get the rights of all of these tracks, plus the time that it took to structure the set and to use ableton to mix and mash-up these tracks took a lot of time and effort if you ask me.

i don't like a lot of these tracks, but i think it's pretty impressive how armin is able to mix and loop all of these tracks using ableton - ableton is not easy software to learn or to use effectively.

why don't you try to put a mix together with 60+ tracks with ableton before you criticize it for being a "gimmick"

Why don't you try to be not be a phony elitist bitch who talks like she's on the cutting edge of dance music and super involved with the scene, but is really just a mid 30's professional desperately trying to cling to her childhood...

Grow up...

And for the record, if you knew the keys of tracks and had a month to sit in front of ableton, even you could put this together...

I stand by my comment, it's a gimmick, and I contend that I, as well as just about every other TA who's touched Ableton for more than 10 minutes, could pull this off...

Now go listen to your bull minimal tech god Hawtin while you ruminate on what your next useless post on TA is going to be...

ctprincess
actually - i do agree that this is a gimmick based on this definition of the term:

a. An innovative stratagem or scheme employed especially to promote a project: an advertising gimmick

Not only is that the dumbest emphasis I've ever seen (Megamixes have been done for years, it's hardly innovative), but it also basically reinforces my point that all this compilation is designed to be is one more marketing "gimmick" designed to get the trance cracker, cult of DJ, ASOT kids to give Armada records more money...

You're the one who's always championing actual innovation and new sound in the scene, and you think THIS is something new and innovative?

Way to go Princess... you're officially a far bigger idiot that I ever imagined...
