not sure if been mentioned.. but yeah! cops are trained to aim at specific areas of the body that being the chest/upper torso, and head. Because they're the biggest targets and the chances of missing is lower than aiming for a skinny moving arm or leg. Especially if there's other officers who if u miss u're target, u might hit...also other bystanders.
I'm positive they could've used other non-lethal methods to disarm him.. tazers.. pepper spray or even a bear trap. But it's the states..this happens all the time. |

Try reading the article, they did try to use non-lethal methods and it didn't work. |
