WMC/UMF or Global Gathering? (pg. 2)

| There is no comparison. Ultra will be over 12 stages of the most cutting edge dance music in the world!!! global is maybe two. I have heard some updates on talent comfirmed for Ultra 8 and the line up completely DESTROYS global. Thousands of people are traveling to Miami from all over the world for Ultra and the WMC. I think global will be headbangers and maybe some of the local dance community. More of a 'texas chilli cook off' kind of event. Ultra is going to be sick this year!!! Cant wait!!!:eyespop: |

| people who go to global gathering will be there for the music...at UMF its gonna be all those punk lil kids running around as if it were a parrty....they wudnt care if paul van dyke is replaced with cedric gervais so long as they have space to roll ballz andd listen to music...GG has limited artist and less stages which means better dj's playing longer sets..so GG is the way to go |

i beg to differ. as i know quite a few people going for the music. myself included. granted you will have the kiddies. but let's not stereotype here and put everyone into a catagory |

| I can see why you would perfer an event like global with a name like Cowboy. You ride a horse to work? Most of the people who attend Ultra are in there 20-30's so obviously you really dont know te or you are working for global...Get your bottel of whisky and your Skid Row tee shirt ready for global!!! DUDE! It will be the OTHER way around!! there's freacking rock stage.... the type of people will be so diversed that you will be confused, where as the UMF its full of electronic dance music enthusiasts.. in GG you will see ppl polarized,and mish pots on an armin set.. go figure. IM still going both, just dont bash one or the other. |

There will be enough distance between the stages so people don't have to hang out with people that aren't like them if they don't want to. Nice and segregated. Dance Music Fans will have one bathroom and Rock kids will have another. (sarcasm off)
But seriously folks, we've taken such issues into consideration and the stages have enough breathing room to prevent such an occurrence as "moshing to Armin's set"...
As for it being a bad idea, I don't see the logic in that. For years, conference week has always been the same pattern of parties.
We're trying to shake it up and diversify things a little. I'd like to think that dance music fans can get along with other types of music fans, but apparently there's a few holdouts. |

That's all fine and well, but remember, you've got tens of thousands of DANCE MUSIC fans from all over the world flying to Miami for the week, I highly doubt people are willing to drop the cash to fly half way around the world to see Rob Zombie... So of course people will be a little irritated, as on the surface it looks like a really strange mix of acts and crowds that MAY not get along all that well...
In reality, I'm just pissed you guys booked Sasha & Diggers and I'm not getting to Miami til the 22nd... ;) |

As a Miami local, I've noticed at that time of year there's a lot more than just dance music fans in town. We're giving them something to go to as well.
That being said, the rock stage is one stage out of five. The rest are all dance-oriented.
And yeah, the rock stage will be a larger stage and area, but the main dance stage will be just as large (stage with Sasha, John, etc...) |

I guess another thing that bothers me about GG in Miami this year is that it kind of feels like a slap in the face to those of us who have limited time to travel from a long distance to be in Miami, and some of my personal favorite artists who traditionally have thrown LEGENDARY nights at WMC are going to be at GG and not WMC/UMF... Having it the week before WMC begins just kind of disappoints me, as if it were a couple months in either direction instead of the week before, I'd probably try to head down... :(
I realize there's a lot more to booking it than my personal preference, but that's really why I personally struggle with it... |

| How can one stage be larger and the other be just as large? You smoking crack? You must be trying to mix death metal with dance music. global is going to be hurting! Im just pissed that they would try and do something around the same time as America's largest and most important dance music event. My whole crew is going to Ultra!!! Fuk the other noise!!!! |

Yep biggest problem with Global Gathering is this stupid Rock Dance blending. Not only will we get the wierd ravers but now we'll get the goth devil worshippers.
It sounds like they are affraid to lose money by an all-dance show and they had to book Rock acts as a instant profit type deal:rolleyes: :whip: |
