| Exclusivity only pertains to the festivals. Artists are free to conduct their parties, i.e. Sasha and John will be performing a club date, and obviously PvD will be doing his traditional party at Space. |

Well, that probably hasn't been an issue for them up until this year.

For the artists, just like everyone heading to Miami in March, it's a "one or the other" situation. I'll bet that less than 10% of your attendees will be attending both festivals. Like I said, the end result is equal to less than the sum of it's parts.

Like you said, business is business. Wouldn't you do the same thing if you were in the position of power?

Well, good luck with your decision. I see it as wrong (or poorly done) on both a business level and an emotional fan-based level. You could have created your own niche somewhere/sometime other than the week before the "other" massive festival in Miami/USA. Nevermind pissing off a lot of electronic music fans.....is this really the best business decision? Only time will tell....you're the professionals.

Bicentennial Park is public property. Having it blocked off and lying fallow for the express purposes of protectionism is against city regulations. If it was "legit", well, we would have had to have found another outdoor venue.
I'm not forcing anyone to go to our festival. I'm here disseminating information to a potentially interested audience, answering their questions, and correcting misconceptions. If someone chooses to go to Ultra, that's fine by me. But if you come to our festival, that'd be cool too. |
