Speaking of graphics, after leaving Aria, my friends and I walked down St-Catherine and through a store's window (Ogilvy or something), we saw the one thing that freaked us out at Aria: that trio of frogs that moved up and down. We were all just standing there, surprised, while some hobo stared at us.

DAMN YOU FROGGIES

I wanted to get there at 10:00 PM sharp, not to miss A MINUTE of Maus' set but certain circumstances delayed me so I ended up going at around 11:15.
It was beautiful..I walked in, not too many people on the dancefloor (i.e. only the true believers :)) and Maus spinning her classic, dark, gritty, industrial, tech-house! I loved every single minute of it. Of course I'm a bit biased coz she's my favorite Montreal DJ and because she's stunning, but her tracks are always slamming. One of my favorite moments was when ninja introduced me to her (thanks for that bro!) even though I met her several times before and actually chilled with her at Laika Bar when she used to be a resident there...
But I have to say, she could of been a bit better, it was New Years after all, and I was waiting for her to drop some songs but she never did :(..it's all good at the end, she's awesome :D :D :D

Ninja and Tag did a good job of promoting Creator to me before he came on and ninja even introduced me to him. You're a very cool guy Creator and I really payed close attention to your set...AMAZING. WOW. Track after track, killer beats, banging baselines..it was bliss seriously. I can totally understand how Tag and ninja find you to be the best local DJ. Thanks again ninja for introducing me to him, very cool. And I saw you going crazy in the DJ booth the whole time he was spinning..you were in heaven

And then Sharam...honestly, I didn't even feel this guy's set. He spun for like, what?, 3 hours? Honestly, it felt like half an hour, it went by soo fast but it was still good of course. You're not in the top 10 DJ list if you don't know your and Deep Dish definately know how to make a party...but...still...he was the weakest from the whole night with some exceptions like Say Hello and that Rolling Stones remix :eyespop: He had no crowd connection whatsoever and he looked ED out of his head. Funny to hear that he was dancing in Stereo the next day..crazy mofo. :eyes:

OK...the man of the night...Danny Howells. He was initially the reason why I went to Aria..I've been dying to see him live ever since I missed him on Labor Day, and boy oh boy, he did NOT dissapoint. In fact, he RIPPED the place apart, especially in his last hour, he was incredible and the songs he kept coming up with...awesome. He spun Unit 4 - Bodydub (Tiefschwarz Remix) and that was my song of the night right there...ING BANGING FROM START TO FINISH. I was praying for him to play it and he did, nice :)
Probably the best thing about Danny: he loves and knows how to party, you can see it when he downs that bottle or spins that track, he has so much fun behind the decks and he doesn't give a , so laidback, very chilled. And that's where the conection with the crowd comes in...and he had that to a tee.

Classic moment: Howells finishes his set, downs the rest of some bottle (whiskey it looked like) while us clubbers are cyring 'One more! Please!!' and he's like (in thick Cockney English) 'What you lot saying? I can't here , me ears are focked!' LOL! And then he spins one more track...INSANITY...ninja I wish I could tell you the name of that song but Im looking for it also, so please tell me as soon as you find it..it's incredible.

Apart from Tag and ninja, I met etrance (hakim) and Kong from Vietnam (thanks for the gum bro!). Saw Anne a few times on the dancefloor...very cute, put a smile on my face :) and magikb, you're awesome :)

Best DJS in order: Danny Howells, Creator, Maus, Sharam.

I will try to go every time Howells is in town, and I'm sure he will be very soon coz you can see that he loves Montreal and its scene...Aaaahh..so nice to live in this city :D

All in all; I had a blast for my first new years at an afterhour, saw Danny H, chilled with some cool people and my best friends, beautiful women everywhere, and all of that in ARIA..my second home in Montreal.

Connection. Energy. Vibe. The DJ. The dancefloor. The MUSIC....
...it's why we are here people... ;)

I see the King Kong name is catching on, and a very fitting name i must say, kong may look harmless, but dont be fooled he packs a serious punch when he hits the dance floor!

Also +1 about maus being sick, what didnt like her much last time i heard her, but the stuff i heard was VERY dope lasy night.

Dude...:nervous:

1st, I was indeed very much at Aria but only from 10am-closing. So, if you "saw" me before 10am, well my friend, I'm speechless.

2nd, pink elephants and various other animals found only in Africa? On exercise wheels? WTF is an exercise wheel exactly? Like, a unicycle? Or more like a treadmill? Please, tell me more about these encounters, I'm very curious. Not only about the trip itself but about how I somehow meshed into it.

And did u "see" me actually with the elephants? And if so, why? Do I look like an elephant? :nervous:

I LOVE hearing people's trips...
