| Damn...gonna be working. Hopefully the supervisor will let me take off. I saw PvD at Blue on its grand opening back in 2003 and it was one hell of a show. Great venue, loved the lighting and sound they had. I just hope they have him play on the stage rather than the booth. |

I'm already drooling.
If someone's familiar w/ Blue and can tell me what the benefit (if any) of VIP tickets is I'd much appreciate it. |

lol! thats like comparing the VIP benefit you get when there's a throw down at meridian. PVD spun at meridian in houston and yes, the gig was incredibly amazing. But c'mon, why would I buy a VIP ticket if there aren't even going to be bouncers guarding the entrance to the room, where people just walked in and out of it like nothing. There really wasnt anything special about that VIP room anyways. When Armin threw down last year there, they're treats at the VIP room consisted of snacks and some tiny sandwiches, which to me tasted worse than my own cooking. Yet, I paid an extra $15 for what??
I've never been to Blue in Dallas, but I wouldn't doubt it's like another Surf Shack in Houston (the 1960 location that is). |

I really want to see Paul Van Dyk because..... I missed him last time in Houston due to a whore that I was dating got smacked around by some guy. I only stayed for Matthias...... the 5 hour drive to dallas. |
I was wondering where the hell you went. As for his set in Houston, well..I will say that it was the best set I've seen him play in Houston. He did about as good in Miami at Spirits on jan 06, but where he really went off was at Club Space, Miami last November. None of his sets in Texas ever came close to what he laid down that night.:eyes: |

i think the most sickening set i ever saw PVD throw down was at Space last year in Miami when Ultra 05. |

That was a great set also. Second favorite set of his next to November. Edgar V did a hell of a job both times and I wish he was opening for van Dyk instead of Bonham. Don't get me wrong..I'm into Jerry's sound, but Edgar could mop the floor with his track selection IMO. |

yes, definitely going to have to go to this.
has anyone been in blue recently? i hear it's pretty thugged out these days.
i don't know what the benefits of the VIP tickets will be for this event, but blue used to have 2 really nice VIP areas that you had to have either a membership or know someone to get into. i'm not sure if it still works this way cause i haven't been in a while since they went to hip-hop. the crowd used to be older and classy when it first opened, and they had people like PVD and BT playing there. something went wrong somewhere along the way and now they just play rap from what i hear. maybe someone else on here has been more recently and can give a more up to date description of the VIP areas. hopefully it will be a good crowd for PVD though. |

my 0.02..
While I have not been to Blue since August of 2003, I am more than sure it will be a good turnout. Paul has more than proven himself to the Dallas crowd as I cannot recall one show out of the 5 different venues in the city I saw him at where I didn't have a great time. The thug crowd probably only shows up to the weeklies, -not the events where the door prices will be around $40-50 imo |
