I had to dig it out and listen to it again yesterday and i fail to find how it can even be within 500 mile radius of qualifying for the "Track Of The Year" top-8.
Heck, it's unbelievable!
How can it have more votes than "Tilt - Twelve" or "Kuffdam & Plant - Summerdream" is beyond my understanding.
If it wins TOTY poll, it would be another low for Trance. It would be so embarassing for me to even tell my friends that this track was actually voted as the best track of year 2006.
A serious question - is there a remix or something of Prya - Aftermath that is really very cool or something. I'd love to try that. Cos the original is a long drawn monotonous track with a big drag. No build up, no breakdown, no surprise tune, no attention-catching note, no peaking out - it just keeps going on and on (And no, not like on and on as in Orbital - Halycon). |
Aftermath isn't very impressive on headphones. But it truly shines like nothing else in a club environment, beyond what anything else this year did. |

I get your point and maybe this track sounds different in a club environment - i have felt that for many other tracks at different times.
And admitedly, i haven't come across it in a club environment.
But tell me something - are we gonna look at the Trance "Track of the year" poll through the sole prism of the dance floor/club environment or are we gonna look at how a track features overall -
in club, in your car, while driving, while listening at home, at work etc? |

| Hard to choose. Voted for Adranaline. Was thinking of voting for Without You but went for Adrenaline at the end. |

With all due respect: what's the appeal of Silent Wave? It's instantly forgettable fluff that could be any of hundred other tracks. |
I was wondering the same.
Worst track of this poll imo. |

| voted for Foyle because he's a TA and those who have followed his work in the amateur producers forum have seen him just get better and better over time. |

Adrenaline is my second favorite from the group. :)
It does stand out, for many of the same reasons as Aftermath, but I think Aftermath places just a bit ahead. |
