Rascism doesn't just occur here in North America.....

I experienced a few episodes of rascism in Taiwan as well. Having garbage thrown at me, a taxi driver screaming at me and calling me "stupid white foreign bitch" in Chinese......even when I dated a Chinese guy his parents were not very happy about him dating a "white, american girl"

the thing is....go down to the States and you'll hear vastly similar things from Americans about Canada and Canadians. If Canadians are guilty of ignorance, it's certainly true south of the border, if not moreso.

But yeah...it bothers me when people are anti-American for no reason other than it's somewhat "cool" in Canadian culture. There are plenty of reasons to take issue with the US government and some of the attitudes and opinions espoused by some of its population.

+1

i lived in austin texas for four years and loved it. and when i tell people here texas was great they give me a weird disguested look.
which gets me ticked off.

i find it funny how lots of canadians have this distorted image of what the average american is.

meh that kind of hate applies to alot of neighboring countries in the world.

im sick of our society teaching us that the only racist people are white people. In fact these days id say the most tolerent people are white. The old school new immigrants seem to have a lot of cultural racist baggage when they arrive here.

Also anyone who says "you are white, you dont know what racism is" obviously has never dated outside their own race.

Yep. So true

Some cultures are so xenophobic.

My parents would kill me if I married a non Korean girl.
As much as I love my parents, there are some things they need to just butt out.

Too true, parents should understand that the decisions that we make are made by ourselves for ourselves.
