i was watching 60 mins the other night and they were talking about workaholics and how our average work weeks are going up to around 50-60 hours/week.
i've also seen some shows talking about a certain lack of ambition and drive to succeed in today's youth.
so i got to thinking...seems like these days it's pretty true either you're driven to succeed and super busy and involved in a lot of stuff...or the opposite. not a whole lot of inbetween going on.
what do you think of yourself and where you fit in? are you happy with where you're headed? what do you think the general attitude of today's young adults is? |

sure.. i have the sky as my limit for advancement, but not particularly too driven... doesnt matter though, i wont get fired and my pay will go up dramatically...
so i can sit on my ass and do nothing all day and as long as i am proficient in BS'ing then i have a golden job...
and i majored in BS'ing so i think i got a good thing going |

i usually work anywhere between 40 and 45 hours a week, and i'd most likely work more if our office hours extended past 6pm. i won't get up early to come in for overtime, but i'd easily stay until 8 or 9 on some nights if i was able to.
as for being lazy or a workaholic... i'm a bit of both. sometimes (like today) i spend the entire day slacking off and posting on TA, whereas other days i'll just throw on some music and zone out and get a load of work done. i like that i can work at my own pace and be able to get done when it needs to be done, and still have time to around on the internet.
i'm definitely not one of those people who is insanely driven and overbearingly serious about their job... i mean i love my job and i take a lot of pride in being a talented artist and an overall good employee, but i also like to stick it to the man by talking about tacos and wet dreams on TA. |
