Myself and Dave Molina will be. All of my other family members who served were air force, I was the only bad seed I suppose LOL. They all had desk or tech jobs while I was a grunt. Zeonfiend on here is Army.

i don't know Zeonfiend. I am a lurker, don't ever really post, but just follow the site to find out about shows, etc...

There was a poster here a long time ago, "MigityMike" who was a local DJ here in San Antonio - his DJ name was "Synthetic" and he opened for a lot of big DJs that came into town. He stopped spinning and joined the Army, went to the desert, and became all gung-ho and sh!t...

i dabble in spinning but was never big-time good or anything.

Heh. In my case I joined the Marines before I was even introduced to electronic music (sheltered growing up..that kinda ), enlisted as 0300, completed SOI, volunteered for the recon indoc, piplined through brc, sere, jump school at benning, dive school at coronado. Was planning on making it a career. I had attended alot of the bigger parties in southern california circa 2000/2001 when I wasn't training and in late 2001 took an interest in DJing/producing electronic music. Rest is history. I've been out for a while now..still have the haircut tho lol.

me shortly after my 19th bday. Out of all the hoo rah pics I shot with a disposable, this was the only one I managed to save up until today. lol

wow that is a pretty nutty career. sucks you didn't get any more pics to save though. crazy how you got into the scene though. I enlisted late (at age 24) and had already been into the scene, spending a lot of time on South Beach (where i'm from) clubbing at Space, Shadow Lounge, etc... I was stationed at Lackland and met a non-existent trance scene... coming from SoBe it killed me. I had to wait for the semi-annual events at Far West Rodeo to get my trance fix... Back in the day i used to go to club Fuel with MigityMike and he would spin and i would run lights... i even spun a couple of times. It was a tight club - they used to play trance... now its all hip hop and that latino music.

my military career isn't half as exciting as yours, so i won't post it here. I did some deployments and cool sh!t, but nothing like SERE or recon or anything. yeah i'm chairforce, shutup! :)

You're from Miami? man..I've been there 4 times so far, twice for the winter music conference and enjoyed every minute of it. Someday..somehow, I'm gonna own a house near SoBe, I dont care how its gonna happen....its just gonna happen. :)

Heh, well be glad you didn't have the job my bro did in the air force. He was a damn crew chief for the KC-135 tankers up in Grand Forks, Noth Dakota. Now while I nearly drown 3 times, jungle rot, broke both feet from a hard landing, walking pnemonia, lil like that...he said it got so cold up there during the winter his eyelids froze open. ..THAT.

If I could re-enlist I'd probably pick air force. Best meals, best women, air in the summertime, heat in the winter...and you get the same damn pay and benefits (minus hazard pay:p )

From what I'm hearing about the air force from my bro, is that there trying to get alot of personnel to cross-train into security forces, or SP's to deploy around the hotspots.

yep. i don't mean to take the thread too far off topic, but to continue what you are saying, you are correct. I'm separating in August for that very reason - they downsized my tech job. I didn't feel like being an aerial gunner or SP, so i am out. I am looking at commissioning in the Army as a tech job, or something non-infantry... we'll see. The AF is downsizing as a whole though and more money and billets are going to the Army and Marines. More ground forces, you know?

the AF does have the best quality of life though, you ain't lyin.

SoBe is great... i can tell you a million stores - i'll just have to meet up with you at the show i guess. I had been to several WMC's before i left there - i mean events so weird as seeing Tiesto walking down the street by himself in sandals... Ferry invited me to his wedding (this was MANY years ago), and Gielen bought me drinks at his table. I loved the WMC... best time of my life. I'm kinda old school i guess, i'm 28 so i've been around awhile in the scene. I was actually AT oakie's '99 Miami Shadow Lounge Essential Mix that you have probably heard all over the internet... there is no experience like attending, in person, one of the now-irrepeatable events like a classic EM set from '99 :)

heh..I have a story where I just happened to meet him in a Virgin Records store in New Orleans in late 2001. The first 5 minutes of the convo I had no idea it was him lol. Craziest part was I didnt get the chance to see him play live until two years later
