I had a good time last night tagging with Matthias and while I'm not much of a Tiesto fan, he did play some really good tracks last night. I think everyone was a little tense in the beginning but everything worked out for the best.
I had to take a step back and realize just how many people were there and I was in awe.
Highlight of the night for me was drooping the Sultan and Miche remix of "With or Without You" by U2...the crowd seemed to dig it.
Overall it was a great night and it was good to see Edie and Mr. Cubano as well. See you guys at the next show : ) |

I had a good time but what made it awesome for me was the +1 girl that came with me was able to meet Tiesto shortly after my set about an hour before when he went on. I went downstairs for a bit after the set to mingle and locate edie and a few other TAs but due to the place being crowded I decided to stick by the VIP table aron had overlooking the crowd (from balcony on left corner near the stage)
I had a great time playing alongside Dave and we had this sorta live collaboration goin on which seemed to work out weel. We ultimately decided to drop one record each turn so it may have been difficult for anyone to tell who was playing what. Off the top of my head I played:
Filterheads - Endless Summer (Max Graham remix)
Sander Klienenberg - This is not Miami
Austin Leeds & Terranova - Shake Me (original)
Max Graham - Does She Know Yet (edit) (crowd seemed to dig this one)
Solarstone - like a Waterfall
Sun Decade - Have it All (Thomas Penton dub) mixed with
Shiloh - Dream On (Luke Chable remix) (Paul van Dyk edit) on 3rd CDJ
I can't remember what else I played. It was funny cuz jojo called us back from making a gas station run for smokes tellin us we were needed back on teh decks because hong kong phooey was runnin late, so we scrambled back there, got to the stage to set up and Dave was barely able to play one track before dim som showed up with his records. I'd also notice while up there that the sound was noticeably much better than dave and mine's set which is beginning to be a growing pet peeve of mine. Its all good, had fun, and now a think a girl who does skydiving for a living has a crush on me :)
As far as Tiesto's set, well..it was Tiesto. He's always been hit or miss, he didn't suck this time..but he wasn't great mindblowing either. Here's how I see it:
-bad headliner: everyones either bored or more interested in talking with their friends, drink, etc
-Okay/good headliner: crowds groovin, dancin about, whatever
-great/phenominal headliner: the whole goddamn venue is jumping up n down.
From my observation Tiesto fit the second catagory and at times had a strong crowd reaction, but only when playing tracks he had produce 4-5 years ago. 0.02
Good to see everyone I met. Thanks to everyone who made it out :) |

the party ends when the establishment owner wants it to..so you'd have to ask him. They probably figured since no more alcohol sales and income figired with the utility costs of running the lights and sound that's why they ended it. happens. |

I definite agree on the first bit. Since the PvD show at the Meridian back in November this is now the largest crowd I've gotten to play for.
Highlight of my night was seeing the crowd react to the personal rework I made of the Max Graham - Does She Know Yet track. The breakdown had everyone's hands in the air and the thunderous beat drop made the entire building shake. Wish I coulda had that on video.
Unfortunately I did not see Edie, but did see Cubano. Can't wait til the next event :) |

You do realize you answered your own question. That's like saying I can't believe someone didn't come with us to Sea Island and order the $25 fish plate just because they don't like seafood. C'mon now. You're smarter than that. I have faith in you.
Good to see it went well for Dave and Matt. And Dave you better be at Limelight tonight, so I can sock you in the stomach for not answering your phone. |

eh it was a rhetorical question... then again i'm a die-hard fan. San Antonio has been destructive for me in the trance scene since i came from Miami... what little i can get here, i am chomping at the bit to go see... |

| BTW, Kai is a bad mamma jamma!!! He played some really good stuff...more on the housey side but he got a good rise out of the crowd. |

I had a good time. I snuck up into VIP and hung out up there for a bit. To me VIP really wasn't worth it, the vibe sucked up there. Downstairs wasn't crowded and I was just hopping around with random people it was super dope. I had a blast, I got to see Giselle and met most of her friends so all and all it was a good night. Thanks to jojo for throwing a pretty good show man.
Pero oye, el chinito did a hell of a job. I just wish I couldn't seen dave and matt throw down not so early.
PS - Who closed out that night after tijs? And why did tijs haul ass off stage after he was done? |

The DJ after him was Shawn Jackson. He plays a lot of Hard House and Hard Trance.
Just as background on that room...I went in there with Matthias after our set and Tijs was sitting on the couch. The room was full of good-looking models and there were panties and bras everywhere...had I been in his shoes I would have hauled ass too : ) |
