how does that work?

Because it gives you the ability to cue up 1 more track ahead of time.

If djs had a setup with 50-60 decks you could match & cue a set before you even start and could "randomly" just play tracks at the same time.

yeah guess so, but surely doing that means you couldnt change the pitch/tempo whatever you call it.

btw i don't dj! (as you may have just guessed, lol)

yeah the difference though is that someone like carl cox is probably playing...two or three tracks at a time...whereas you're just talking about cueing...

Well sure you could change the pitch, you would just have to change the pitch of the other tracks that you are playing at the same time. It still makes it easier since all you would have to do is a minor adjustment. When thats 3 decks its a bit easier then 50.

But this whole Idea is where computers come in. Ableton lets you mix with however many chanels that it lets you. So in theory you could be mixing 50 tracks at the same time.

Yeah but obviously Cox isn't constantly mixing 3 tracks at the same time.

When you are in the middle of a set, you could probably quickly match another track or 2 if you had the equipment and you could layer them.

no not constantly but he does it a lot.

futhermore he uses the cdj to cue op samba samples or bass samples. Then he starts pressing the cue button like a mad man and with his other hand he moves the fader up and down to create desired rhythems. This way he can spice up tracks which are playing

pretty impressive imo, and then imagine he has tons of other tricks

When i was in ibiza 2 yeas back you could stand behind the booth in club space. When cox played I was standing like this :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: and no it wasn't xtc or alcohol. Cox knows his business.

Jonathan lisle does 3 deck harmonic mixing to progressive house/breaks :eyes: :eyes: Even sasha has called this man god :tongue3
