Best Mixing Skills can mean a lot of different things & depend on a lot of different styles...
Just cause you can mix with a lot of cool effects imo doesn't mean you are the best dj. |
Plus 100 mate.
Halliwell is DJ hes only good at ty effects over boring tracks anyways. Really irritates me.
Some music requires the DJ to just "mix" as appose to the sound up as much as possible.
DJ's I think are awesome for "just mixing" are:
1. John Digweed
2. Nick Warren
3. Manuel Le Saux
4. Hai Lee Chen
The latter 2 being pretty new/unknown DJs but they have to make it sometime, cause both blow me away with their mixes. |

i'd put my vote for Hernan Cattaneo right now. its tough to tell where one track ends and the other starts.

ill mention oakie because even if his mixing wasnt top-notch, that man knew how to construct a set, read the crowd, and deliver a rock-solid good time:eyespop: |

big fat LOL to anyone mentioning corsten, armin etc. these guys have no brilliance in their mixing whatsoever. mundane as hell.
pvd is the only dj that plays a significant amount of trance music today who is generally skilled at little tricks and impressive mixing/transitions and structure, as well as good EQing ability.
sasha, digweed and zabiela are definitely some of the very best at mixing outside of trance music today (out of all the major internationally famous djs) |
