God no. He's good when it comes to technical skills, no doubt, but there are way better.

Ritchie Hawtin - Checked his latest mix comp out? I think you'd immediately put his name on this list if you have. Theres like 70 tracks in 80 minutes time. He layers that many on top of each other. That's great technical mixing imo. |
The flow of DE9:Transitions is amazing, and technically it's impeccable, but hey, it's prerecorded :p. He's awesome when playing live as well though, so he definitely belongs in this topic. |

Creamfields? fuk that cd, I have the live version from radio one. What did you think of his Flaming June - BT ---->to Taste Experience - Summersault? One of the best mixes I ever heard and the fact he chose that song to go after flaming june is what mixing is all about. It's not all about beat matching, it's about choosing the right record after the right record. I heard plenty of sets by popular dj's during an experience and was really pissed off by the fact they played the wrong record after another. It's something you gain with experience and thank God not too many people know about it cuz it makes em all sound like |
the mix from flaming june into summersault isnt too bad, but listen to the one from lizard into more and more, its ing awful!
back at the time of the 99 world tour oakie was playing some awesome tunes, but if were just talking about technical ability, he really shouldnt get a mention. |

| Perry O'Neil has excellent mixing skills, as does Jon O'Bir. |

| ROFL at whoever said Oakenfold, his 99 EMs are amazing but the mixing is just plain crap |

Sometimes I think the some of my friends have the best mixing I have seen/heard and never hear em mess up, find the beat in an instant. But listening to these professionals from livesets I hear mistakes from most of em.
I guess my point is all these guys named in the thread have days of flawless mixing and times when they have trouble as well. Do some of you guys think some dj's that are completely unkown are just as good or better than big names? |
