Look, my only point is this; My view of this album is MY OWN, and though there may be many out there that agree with me, I'm sure there are those like yourself who don't. I did not go into listening to this album saying "This sucks" without having heard a note, I gave it a chance and provided my honest opinion on it.

Your best bet, to combat the "this is so ing bad" responses, is not to acknowledge them, and provide reasonable praise and positive criticism supporting why you like it. Anything else will, without doubt, end in a flame war, rendering any conversation on the topic useless.

First, @ a98: This hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil mentality you seem to embrace is going to take you no where. If you expand your argument for quietism, then essentially you're saying if you don't like anything, don't say anything. Quite frankly, constructive criticism is what keeps art fresh and entertaining. If you don't want to acknowledge flaws, that's fine, but many of us enjoy taking an objective and critical view of art. If you don't like it, you could certainly stop looking at TA, or for that matter, any site, print, televised, radio, or other kind of media that may contain critical commentary.

this isn't constructive criticism, first of all do you honestly think gabriel and dresden reads these boards and thinks, "hmmm maybe we should try to do something different with the next album?"
and second, if they would do you think that saying their album is gay and sucks balls and that you want to piss on them is constructive?

and what about naming worst sasha sets for instance? who gives a what the bad sets are, sasha ain't reading these boards and i don't think he even cares what we think, so it doesn't lead you anywhere. naming good sets though, that way people know what's worth to listen.
well whatever do what you will be what you want.

It's abundantly clear to me at this point that you haven't read a single one of my posts, and on top of that, don't really care all that much about the music in the first place.

I, on the other hand, enjoy discussing both the positive and negative aspects of music and the scene, regardless of who else is reading them, because I just love to talk about music.

And for the record, I'd bet dollars to donuts that Dave is reading this, and regardless of whether or not he cares, he knows.

I really don't understand why it is whenever I make a negative post about anything, people seem to jump on it like I just insulted their mothers honor. :conf:

Edit: But I'm sure your remix of TTD is terrific! :gsmile: Markus played it, it's gotta be!

Come on, is like x(insert a quantity between 10000000 and 1000000000000 here) times better than the Digital Blonde album - the most overrated album ever - in terms of quality, production and everything you wants. Whats the problem then? That G&D are not the favourite artists of any of the l33tist people cause it is music that a lot of people enjoy and hey! Thats not possible for an l33tist, they just listen underground music till it grows and others starts to like. Then they move to other thing and hates everything they liked in the past. Really sad.

hah you wish. this may go down well among the pop heads but I can't see anything worthy for the dancefloors. But on the other hands I've never heard a G&D set which haven't made me fall asleep

Phortastic
1. Let Go

Not a bad intro track tbh, i heard worse.

2. Eleven

Attempt at electro but it sounds like crap, very bad.

3. Enemy

Blend, and annoying vocals. Also instrumental this track has nothing to offer.

4. Dust in the wind

Can u rip-off a track more than this? The instrumental part is a total rip-off from Silvio Ecomo - No Dip and the vocals are obviously not original either.

5. Mass Repeat

This track is pretty good imo. Nice use of electro this time.

6. Closer

This is ok, nothing more, nothing less.

7. Not Enough

see track #3

9. New Path

see track #3

10. Sydney

This is the best track imo. I would like to see this released with remixes. Nice track.

11. Dangerous Power

Vocals totally ruin this track. Instrumental isnt that bad but the vocals... my god :(

12. Tracking Treasure Down

Yes i also dont like this one. In fact the beginning is not bad but when the electrohouse attempt after the break comes in it sounds so seperate from the first part of the track IMO that i totally lose interest.

So what we have here: 11 tracks of which 2 are nice and 2 are ok. The rest is very bad IMO.

Conclusion: G&D should stick to remixes. But if u compare this album to their other tracks like: Portobello, Serendipity & arcadia this doesnt even come close :sadgreen:
So they can make good tracks, just not this time i guess.

Such a disapointment for me, expected alot better.

I actually thought that the album was pretty good... Other than TTD, which is simply overplayed out of my bunghole, and eleven, the tracks are mostly decent/good in my opinion... There are TONS of new sounds in the CD, and in almost each track, you have a moment when you are in your first few listens, where a sound comes out of nowhere and you're kinda like, "oooh thats a new and kinda random one" and it usually works out.. I can in fact also see a TON of these songs on the dancefloors! The hardbeats and vocals iwth them are perfect club tunes.. its almost more of a club album rather than a listening one. I think that Dangerous Power sounds a TON like Armin Van Buuren - Gypsy... Its not the same exact sound but the style is SO similar that I thought it was kinda rip-offish.. but this album sounds different, and for the most part, I liked the vocals (aside from TTD/Let Go, which I agree sound VERY similar), because they break through the new and unique sounds in an innovative way... Hence, I guess that means I thought the production was pretty good too... no random mishaps, and the transitions from song to song are kinda cool... album flows without beign really 'mixed'...

Either way, to each his own.. that is just my opinion

where can i hear samples from the album?

Right on man....... You took the words right out of my mouth right here. I got to listen to the entire album at their cd release party during WMC and there were so many new sounds that just came out of no where. I agree with also needing to experience it in a club!! Its the kind of music that you just need to rock out too. Listening to a bootleg copy or even listening to it on poor speakers will not give it the justice it deserves. :happy2:

I'm really impress with album,i ing love this cd, it's so techy and different. Let Go, Eleven, Enemy,Mass Repeat,Sydney and Dangerous Power are all good tracks.

I have to say that Gabriel and Dreseden, Asot 2006 and Sequential by far are my favorites this year. In search of sunrise 5 really stinks, even tiesto picked some really good songs but his mixing need improvement.
