The 'Nintendo' sounds people are talking about are the sounds of a Moog synth I believe. It's a classic (retro) sound and I love how bold they are with it.
This album doesn't conform with what's hot right now and virtually all the tracks lack club appeal. But I don't think their goal here was to make an album with club appeal. It has a definite flow and it grows on me each time I play it. To discount it as crap is to be narrow minded IMHO. I think this is an amazing body of work and many people will find a lot of joy in it as I have. When it's released I'll buy it for sure.
But, with that said, Tracking Down Treasure should have been dropped. Or at least the god damn stupid vocals! ;) |

| "Eleven" and "Enemy" are quite okay, the rest doesn't really catch my attention. |

so i'm listening to it right now off of their website. http://www.gabrielanddresden.com
it's all right. Some good stuff; some bad. i guess I'd say it's rather average.
but i'm hoping, really, that a lot of these sound better in a larger club setting; vs on my computer speakers. granted i've got decent speakers; but i'm thinking the whole vibe will be better in a larger environment.
regardless, i'd say probably 7/10.
oh, and i think i'm the only one who likes Dangerous Power. honestly, i think the vocals on it are great. |

i enjoy eleven, but the build could have been better, and without that small break after the climax
mass repeat has this rediculously loud effect in it...ear damaging, dont like it.
i liked enemy and closer...closer needs another loop at the end when it gets going with the vocals...just when theres some energy, it starts ending
Sydney is awesome...but it needs to be longer. I really hope a single comes out extended. The climax lasts about 10 sec
the rest can be forgotten. I really like the diff sounds in the tracks mentioned above, even the nintendo sounding stuff. It's way better than a collection of whiteroom, smith and pledger and above and beyond sounds thats for sure, at least imo |

This has been out for a couple of days officially, and I'm surprised that nobody has yet dug this thread up.
My thoughts here.
Be advised, as I disclaim, that if you know you like G&D then there's little point in reading it. |

The release is pretty weird- I can find it on the Tesco (a supermarket) website, but not Juno. |

Oh god that was the best description of TTD I've ever read. Even if I do sorta like it because of its catchiness.
And to JB, Til There Was You was a remix (a good one by them actually) but it won't be on their album. |

Be carefull...An album that you can find at tesco's(next to the mustards and vegetable and stuff) is probably NOT a GOOD album... |
