the liberals will be elected without a hitch at the next elections... trust me on this, big time.
the liberals have done many many things that sadly have been ill-communicated to the people. They look bad, but they aren't. |

before the next elections the csn and tuac(2 of the largest unions in the province) are planning a smear campaign against charest. If you consider the % of people in this province that are unionized, ill take that bet...name your stakes.;)
when i have seen a ton of anglos saying they would vote bloc over liberal, you know something is up.If there is a poor voter turnout and the union campaign works, just wait and see.
if alot of people dont show up to the polls and every unionized worker in this province votes...it wont even be close;) |

charest is one of the reason that almost 60% of jean coutu's warehouse workers will lose their jobs to a plant in hawksburry ontario.Loblaws has moved a significant portion of their operations to ontario as well.
Jean Coutu is one of the most Quebecois companies. When employees lose their jobs to ontario, how does that look.Jean Coutu can move even if they are in a collective barganing agreement and the employess can do nothing...This is only just the tip off the ice berg, just wait till you see what happens to all the transport workers in the next year.Like unions or not, massive jobs lost to out of province competitors is gonna look very bad.Add an unflattering tv campaign and voila.;)
i was unionized for a long time, i didnt really like it either. The fact is loss of jobs and no protection will create turmoil...just watch.I havent even mentioned some of the other campaigns that will be geared against Charest...not one of them directly supported by a political party;)
i havent even touched the subject of our health care system and the brain drain effect. |

loblaws moving operations? they never had in the first place. They bought provigo sometimes ago. They want to concentrate things in their hq? yeah maybe, never heard of it. Makes sense.
JeanCoutu moving? never heard of that sorry.
what do unions have to do with that anyways, its buisness decisions.
Charest forced public sector unions to a fixed salary... i don't understand JC and loeblaws in that. |

i am good friends with many jean coutu employess....they couldnt even get a cost of living increase in their recent barganing agreement. When you see in the next year on the news that 400 people lost their jobs....
I was a loblaws/maxi/provigo employee for many years.(not in the stores but in transport logistics)they are one of the largest employers in the province. They plan to cut the quebec work force by 40% over the next 5 years.
Trucking companies like Robert transport,Thibodeau,Art & Ross, are all slowly moving out of the province.More lost jobs.
Its gotta stop one day.Its already pathetic enough that even the bank of MONTREAl has no head office here.Cn moved theirs from Montreal to Calgary.I respect your opinion malek, i truly do.The reality is alot of the blue colar workforce will be without jobs due to this law. Most arent highly skilled either, what will they do?Milk unemployment and welfare dry.Especially if they have no jobs to go to.
I think we shall agree to disagree.I understand your points malek, i just happen to be part of the group that is fed up of running in circles in this province. When will this province realize its full potential...its there, but there is no one to move it ahead, esp with the liberal gov.
ps George Weston ltee(the parent company of loblaws) is based in Calgary, not Ontario. Why arent they going to Alberta then? |

ok, please please, tell me which law are you talking about? i'm not following you here on bit.
CN never moved to calgary, its still here, its the CP who did a while back.
The Bank Of Nova Scotia moved from N.S. to Toronto, the Royal Bank moved from Halifax to Montreal, then to Toronto. Its a trend.
Toronto is the new financial hq of canada, they have done amazingly good in finance.
Quebec is a sleeping giant, it needs un "coup de fouet", starting by forced deunionization and massive tax breaks.... etc that needs another thread btw.
But lets not change the subject, what did charest do to unions in general? nothing. |

The anti union law that Jean Charest passed pretty much allows companies to not have to abide by collective bargaining agreements. This means they can pick up and move whenever they see fit, without offering even minor compensation to its laid off employees.Think of you losing your job that you have worked at for 20 years, and not even getting a dime of severance.
Si on parle d'hydro bronze, pourquoi qu'on la paye plus cher que les etats qui l'importe du quebec?Impossible de suivre un gourvernement albertain qui fonctionne pas sur une economie en deficite, mais avec un surplus.Tu pense que l'hydro va permettre des cheques de surplus de 1000$ a tous les citoyens comme en Alberta?pfff no way, even if we have a surplus, no quebec citizen will see a dime.
And what happened to the health care reform that Charest promised. Its funny, emergency room waits are longer than ever and many elderly are doing without much needed care.I guess he just forgot about that one eh?
Bronze c sur que ta un bias(dont know the french word)Regarde ton sig man, sur que ta la bite de charest profonds dans l'anus peu importe de ses actions:p |
