Yeah, I didn't really know about them at back then :(

I'm glad I got to go to a hulla before they stopped having them :)

Definitly. :( I hate thinking about it. :( I was born just a few years too late. Ohhhhh wellllllll....

Underground parties still exist today; in fact I went to one last month. As per usual, the map point was released 24h before the party where you meet someone who takes you to the secret location. This particular one was at an abandoned warehouse -- we entered through the propped up loading dock doors following a darkened path up to the 2nd floor where the party was being held. Pretty cool vibe to the whole thing and a welcome change to the normal over commercialized clubbing atmosphere.

i caught the tale end of it...but i wish i could have gone to just ONE party in a parking garage

I caught the tail end of it...one or two parties. I say to get a general feel of the vibe of things, get out of North America. Or find some Underground Raves here. They still exist.

I was around for NYC days of Twilo and some of the last golden years of the raves in Toronto (mid/late 1990's to 2000 ish.) :) some of the most fantasitc memories of my life to date. ...also some of the sketchiest night ever. some of them would ruin a budding political career if they ever got released.... good thing I'm not planning on ever having a budding political career! :D

Since I hit up my first parties around the end of grade 9 I got in pretty young but loved the atmosphere so much there was no turning back.

Yeah, same here. I first got into EDM towards the end (1999), and I agree that those parties are some to remember for a long time. I remember being at a Purple Heaven party at the Palais Royale sitting outside listening to some pretty sick trance, getting wrecked. Wicked, wicked time.

Yeah I definitely missed out....I got into dance music in about 11th grade (which was 2002-2003)

I agree that these types of parties do still exist and I usually hit up one or two every year that really impress me and take me back years as though I walked through a rabbit hole.
But in general I just don't feel they have the same vibe as back then. It's just a feeling I get. I think part of it isn't that the decorations and 'undergroundness' are there like they used to be at parties but rather back then I felt like I was part of something still new and exciting that was pushing the limits and breaking new ground. The energy coming from everyone back then fed off each other because we all felt the same way about what we were involved with.

I can't really explain it much better than that right now.

i remember my friend telling me about them in the mid90s. everyone used to roll their asses off. it was definitely a PLUR-y type of experience.
