Packard Plant parties in Detroit. Also the Warehouse out on Jefferson. And no one can forget the infamous Richie hawtin barn party in Essex county back in 1995. Or "jak-o-latern" later that year in Windsor.

I was also priveledged enough to go to the Metroplex 10 year anniversary with the likes of derrick may, juan atkins, jeff mills, DBX ...the list goes on...

I miss the mid 90s

but on a positive note, if we were partying all the way back then think about how much more sketch we'd be now a days:toothless

Ouch.... that one hurt Carney.... I've been partying since 1996

it's all about showing up at Nathan Phillips and sitting around waiting for a school bus on a friday night :p

I had done that way too many times lol. Half the time we were just guessing that we were on the right bus.

I hated Liquid Adrenaline & Big Bud, so ghetto .... ironicly my first party was a Liqiud party.

I miss it, but you can't dwell on what it once was.

But what I miss...

- Bringing garbage bags to hold all your stuff in, and finding it at the end of the night

- I would step on someone's toes, and they would apologize

- Backrides

- The people with the masks who breathe in the Vicks

- Finding out the locale after 6pm

- PLUR

Underground parties still exist today; in fact I went to one last month. As per usual, the map point was released 24h before the party where you meet someone who takes you to the secret location. This particular one was at an abandoned warehouse -- we entered through the propped up loading dock doors following a darkened path up to the 2nd floor where the party was being held. Pretty cool vibe to the whole thing and a welcome change to the normal over commercialized clubbing atmosphere.

LOL they still throwing parties by the railroad tracks in errrr the west end of TO.? (gotta keep the exact locale on the DL). Went to one a couple years ago. was really cool in concept but the vibe and feel of the party wasn't oldschool.

yeah they were hit or miss for me too... but the Liquid Adrenaline party back behind that wharehouse out in the middle of no where with all the rain will go down as one of my favorite nights despite the uber sketchyness of it.

Jayx1 I agree the E network parties were some of the best. :)

That Party was truly one of the best/worst night i have ever had! it gets a sketch factor of like 20/10, couldn't get on a bus @ Nathan Philips Square,Jumped in a cab with some randoms after getting directions from the bus driver.
The rain was the biggest trip, but after awhile it seemed to disppear cause I was rocking out to hard. The mission Home, well thats a whole nother sketchy story!

there were some pretty crazy parties back then, even in the Buffalo area. 96, 97, 98...awesome years.

fack man, it was always a scavenger hunt finding the joint, and when you got there, you were like, what the fack, there's nothing here. then you see 4 or 5 people come out of nowhere, and figure they must be going where you are, so you follow them in.

so many stories, damn, the memories.

meh...not really...I'm a clubber, never been a raver...though I'm sure it would have been fun to experience a couple, just for the sake of experiencing that scene.

I've been into EDM since before the rave scene and have a lot of fond club/party memories though.

Sean Miller at what was the old Tropicana on Spadina...around '99 or '00...back when he spun TRANCE, lol...Sona (Montreal)...EDM Sundays @ Limelight w/DJ Iain and d'n'b on the rooftop...Industrial nights at Club Maxx, Catch-22, etc...pre-Guv RPM...so many more.

I miss the PLUR attitude that even existed more in the EDM clubs at the time than it does now...I think people have just become bitchy...or the drugs aren't the same...I dunno :D

My squat party days in 2003-2004 gave me a proper understanding of how the underground parties feel:D I Would like to go to one again someday in the future but I couldn't do them every weekend:crazy:

Luckly, I was around to see the high point and fall of the Toronto rave scene 1999-200O too.

Like others have said on this thread their is still underground (warehouse) parties happening in the city FTWK;)

Unfortunately they don't have much of an underground feel:(
