Those were the days... Oakenfold @ the Better Living Centre with 15000 people, heaven :) Even the Guv was so much better, incredible vibe a vibe that just isn't around anymore. Now the music has less euphoric and positive feel to it, it's dark and dirty. Those were the great days.....

I remember the meat packing place on gunns rd. Best parties. "E network".

I'm wondering if this was the place of a rave I went to when I was up here 1 weekend from DC in 94 or 95? I know it was in the west end in some warehouse. I know Hipp-E and Halo played, and there was this asian drum n bass DJ from DC, ironically. I believe they had a shuttle bus to and from the place, but we followed it in our car, so we had freedom to leave when we want.
This was the only TO rave I managed to attend. I had bad timing every time I came up here, always missing the ones at the Science Centre & airport hangars. :( How I drooled over those flyers....

But I am certainly lucky enough to have been there for when the scene started on the east coast (DC) in '91. It was all gay men, and 20-40 'ravers'. Those were the days.... RIP Catastrophic Productions.

it wasn't an underground party... but the only party i really wish i had gone to... were the parties they had at the science center... if my memory serves me correctly they were citrus parties...

otherwise ive just made all of this up... in which case.... they'd have been great parties...

i went to some ed up rave about 20 mins west of collingwood on the other side of the blue. this was like 6-7 years ago. we were driving in collingwood looking for a party, i pulled up a window and yelled to some random girl near kelsey's "where's the party at?". she got so excited and started telling us about this rave and that she really wants to go to. so we came to her house, she changed and we went to this rave. we had to cab there cuz we didnt' want to drive since we were gonna get smashed. so we go there, it's in the middle of ing nowhere, all pitch black, cabbie drops us off like 5 mins away from this place cuz he was too scared to keep driving, we get there, it was rave at it's finest with tents and all the necessities. partied there till late night then came the worst part. we didn't know how to get out of there so we started walking on some random road. it was all black, like we coudln't see more than 5 metres ahead of us. no lights anywhere! ing creepy . we walked for literally 2 hours until we hit some small village. all dead, sun rising at this point, we called a cabbie to pick us up from that village. luckily they made it and we got back to cottage safe. i was like 16 back then, thought my life was gonna be over from so much walking.

but ya the point of this story is that i missed those raves looking back at it now knowing how much better it would have been now.

p.s. can't wait for dance valley!!!

Yup, Citrus. Maestro Fresh Wes and Dr. Trance headlined the first one. Even some of the exhibits were open. It was unique to say the least.

As for the airport hangar ones, it was fun just getting there. No lights, and you just wasn't sure if you were on a road or not when driving there. That was where Steve Venom had his last party???

Best exhibit to remain open was the one where your shadow is projected onto the psychedelic colour screen, lol I know I spent hours in that thing.

Other funny part about the Citrus parties is the Science Centre isn't really "locked down" so many people were trying to sneak in. Whenever a group of security started husling towards the bushes everyone would start blowing their whistles & stuff to warn those trying to sneak in to lay low.. ROFL.

I must have rode on the same bus as you did... HAHAHAHAHAHA
I so remember that or being picked up in a school bus in front of union station. Those were the days when we did tabs instead of "E"... and the cops walked around the party chatting with the partiers.
