Funny isn't it?

First we go through the endless banter in regards to shirtless men (aka the carwash crew), now we are debating on whether or not the crowd has enough make-up/wig attire!?!

IRONY DOESN'T FARE WELL IN THIS FORUM OBVIOUSLY...

As a boy who spent his thinnest years (1990's) parading on dancefloors all over South Beach, NYC and Montreal, I have a special fondness for club kids, drag queens, freaks and all kinds of colorful characters that populated clubs like Sound Factory, Paragon, Liquid and nameless others.... They always managed to put a smile on my face (well the nice ones at least)... DJ's, promoters and club owners celebrated and encouraged such behaviours as a way to spice things up and add flair to the party. As a matter of fact, such characters shaped the nights and in many cases CREATED A SCENE.

Since moving to Toronto about a year ago, I noticed the vacuum that the lack of such characters caused.... I have never lived in a victorian town before so I was a bit surprised.
The intention of my post was to see people's comments regarding this...
Obviously some people didn't get it and rather seem annoyed by my curiosity.

and FYI, the term "The Children" refers to all club people, and I don't mean the "I go to the club to look cool/get laid/get wasted" but to those who go out to SHARE THE LOVE for music and life.... We are all supposed to bring our little contribution to the party to make it better, YOUR OWN WAY......

I would love to see more peeps dress up in TO.

Definitely.

Some of the funnest things I have seen were people dressed up back in the day.

appreciate your insight bro, but i think bottom line is most people are going to stick to what makes them comfortable.... whether or not it makes the scene as a whole lacking 'flair'.

i think we should all just be thankful that we FINALLY have a venue in where no matter who you are, where you come from, or what you look like - you're treated with respect, and are accepted.

FYI, Buddy, Pretty sure anyone who posts on a website such as one named "TraceAddict", definitly does it for the love of the music, and sounds... I really don't think you see this.

I thought most of the crowds so far at Sonic have had great style. One thing I like about the club and the attitude that goes with it, is that you DONT have to show up in a ing blazer and stacey adams loafers to feel 'accepted'. If style code is what you want, there is always TiL. People should come dressed in what makes them feel comfortable, especially since the majority of the clientele is there to dance - for more than six hours straight.

I completely and wholeheartedly agree. Style code in effect would make this a pretty lame afterhours. Its not like anyone there looked like a bum.

I'm pretty sure that's not what Tribesman was trying to say.
