Well...my first time at Sonic was a success.
Very nice layout with lots of dancing room and seating.
The night started pretty slow but C & C started picking it up with some dark dirty tribal about 7 am. I love the dark dirty beats....you can't go wrong with them. Couldn't stay all that late and ended up leaving around 9 am.
Great night out with a great bunch of people.
The pre-meet was fun...sorry I wasn't more talkative....just a little run down from a crazy ass week.
Next up......who knows...your guess is as good as mine :D |

Fun night. Review to come later.
There were so many incriminating pictures taken last night, I can only imagine :nervous: |

Hey Tas!!
This was my second time @ Sonic since the grand opening... got there at around 6 something.... and the music was just pumping.. got there just in time... for the best dirtyyyy dark triballll beats.... met Chus and Ceballos in the dj booth chilled in there for a few minutes spoke to them in espanol.. and took a couple pix with them it was awesome.. I was soo impressed... I just couldnt stop dancing... saw a few Tas...
I ditched guv last night and woke up at 3 am finding out Seaman didnt even show.. so kudos for me.. i heard Oliver was blasting a bunch of new tunes.. its all good.. I got to sleep a few hours and then head to Sonic by 6am...(knowing it gets good by that time since my awesome experience at morales) left at around 11:45am...
almost decided to go to CZ but when we passed by we found out it was like 600-700 ppl in there.. and 20 bucks.. so we said forget it... ended up having breakfast/lunch on college street at sicilians...didnt feel tired at all which was awesome...
overall... chus and ceballos played a lot of great traxx... one was the copyright - "he is" choon that morales played at the grand opening.. went nuts to it.. and many many others.. i hope everyone had fun.. I cant wait to see the pics Andre and Mike took...
i have to thank those who made it fun... my sis scen.. gabe and mike...got 2 see cribbs and highroller met a couple other ppl which were way cool..
Until the next event... much luv,
Kat |

Sean Millers set was terrible, the first hour and abit of C&C's set was ok but as soon as they started with the tribal, i was in heaven.

Jeez, quite the contrary I thought..... Sean was absolutely stellar in delivering an opening set that not only kept the perfect pace, but i thought warmed the room up perfectly (without trying to show up the headliner). His last hour was chugged out, funked up house at its finest - and the look on Pablo's face when first entering the booth was priceless.
Chus & Ceballos definately delivered, but felt their best stuff came around 9 - 10 am..... Sean easily stole the show for me though, and I'm really looking forward to what he will do with his 7am set next week!
TO THOSE WHO WERE ON MY GUESTLIST, WHO ENDED UP PAYING FULL: My deepest apologies go out to the people i promised spots on my g-list who arrived only to find they werent on the list. My guestlist for whatever reason, was not included in the master list when first taken down to the doors. I realised this when a few people I had asked to make sure they got in ok, said they didnt. My list was then rushed down at 2:30, but by then it was already too late for most of you.
Management feels terrible about the mishap, and to make up for it - anyone who was on my list this week will receive a COMP pass for next weekend, and may bring a guest. We will have our own section of the back of the club that is EXCLUSIVE to those in my party. Judging by the reaction of those I told about this seem thrilled, and we hope this will rectify the situation for all of you!
Thanks for all of your support guys, you all brought a wicked vibe to the party, and your presence was felt the entire evening/morning.
See you next week ;) |

Arrived at the club around 4:00am, no lineup for the ticket holders, and was actually impressed when the guy at the door refused to let a non-ticket holder bribe his way in that line (was there a big line at the other entrance?) -- but kudos to the door staff for not taking bribes.
Even when one of my tickets from ticketbreak didnt scan properly, the guy didnt give us a hard time over it and let us go in - thanks!
Got in and caught the tail end of millers set, while it didnt blow me away - it was setting the stage nicely for C&C, I found the first bit of C&Cs set to be a bit 'meh', but they quickly picked up the pace and had me dancing my ass off in no time. While it wasnt a 'mind numbling good set' -- it was pretty damn good, fun to dance to, and found that around 9/10 is when it was at its best, and I left at 11:00am feeling very satisifed that my cover was well spent.
The space looks amazing, the sound is pretty good - although it did leave me with ringing ears (I lost my earplugs somehow), I also lost my wallet at one point also - but a guy found it and returned it to me at pretty much the instant I realized I lost it, and nothing was missing from it - thanks!
First time checking out Sonic since it opened and I'd rate it a 8/10 - it was exactly what I was looking for in a night out all around and no major complaints. Friendly staff, great vibe, great music, killer sound. Looking forward to spending more money that I dont have by comming here for the rest of the summer :) |

Now thats' running a business right and well. So much respect and kudos. They really get it (as one would of course assume), but its so nice to see amongst everything else and the way other ships seem to be run in this industry.
Placing the patrons so highly and with such regard is a refreshing and wonderful policy and philosophy!

^^ Further proof s being run and handled right. They said they'd take care of that, and PRESTO, they really did. ing AWESOME. Im so impressed with this ... Im not even the biggest haus fan, but DAMMIT, I REALLY WANNA ATTEND THIS PLACE!!!! (such a contrast to my current impression of TIL... both these joints I have yet to attend)
Besides everything else that is so great about this club and location, the management on this place is gonna FURTHER add to making this one of the most top notch places in Toronto to party!
I say again, SO MUCH RESPECT Sonic has from me. So much! I can't wait to grace this place in the near future! |
