just playing devils advocate :wtf: I think discussing, debating, screaming about drugs is moot at this point. We all have opinions and I don't think they are gonna change :) |

I would hate for the DEA or any law enforcement agency try to do what they have done in the past and shut down venues. It just happened in New York city last month when they shut down most of the popular EDM spots including Avalon, Spirit, and others. Not only do drugs can cause our favority venues to shut down, but they also have a daisy link effect on us. Because on most EDM venues patrons mostly use drugs, the alcohol consumption level is really low, thus causing the owners to raise the drink prices and to raise admission charge. Other venues where drinking is more heavily, have lower prices.
Research what happened at the State Palace in New Orleans during the 90's and you'll see how the DEA is really deep into this game. More than you probably think.
Here, I'll give you a headstart...

As someone with a father that is a former DEA agent and also knows SEVERAL DEA agents personally I can tell you that the agency is beyond corrupt (every man has a price). Just because something is written down on a page with .gov on it does not make it true! The DEA could give two s if Bas is smoking weed out on Hollywood Blvd. Do you think they patrol the streets for minor offenses? The DEA is out to make busts at the DEALER and DISTRIBUTOR level. They DEA is not going to shut down a club over 30 people COMING IN with their own stash of drugs. The DEA makes a move after they have investigated a venue FOR YEARS and have video, audio, and physical proof that organized crime is involved with HEAVY drug trade in a venue. The DEA won't get anywhere busting individuals, they are focused on stopping planes from landing at the us border dropping off cocaine from Colombia or ships importing a variety of illicit narcotics. The DEA suffers from a lust for money, power, and blackmail. DEA agents have a tendency to pocket many things seized on a raid..... especially cash. Agents are fed cash to overlook some operations and bust others to eliminate competition. My dad did not want a part of that world anymore and that is why he turned in his badge many years ago. |

one measure of how toxic a drug is on your system is how severe the physical withdrawal symptoms are. you can DIE from alcohol withdrawal, not with mdma, and weed doesn't even have physical withdrawal. |

Ok ok, before this gets out of hand...even though it has :p, let's just stay on topic. I was wondering why alot of yous guys had problems with Avalon so let's just leave it at that. No need to get people's morals involved and start losing friendships over it :)
So we have, penis dancers, ed up old people, pushy crowd?, shemales (lol), fobs, drug use, bad security, lines...did I miss anything?
Also, i've never had a problem with the lines...I don't get what happened with some of you? Just took too long to get in? Something with the list or pre-sales? |
lol i'm pretty blunt and thickskinned on the internet so if i'm pissing anyone here off, sry?
dude the line for zabiela was absurd, if we didn't get hooked up on the other side of the curb we would have waited 2 hours with everyone else at the end of the block! avalon's line is ridiculous, i know the regulars have found ways around it, but from an outside perspective, it's the worst, slowest and most disorganized line i've ever seen for any night club of the dozens i've been to. yes it ranks absolute dead last. |

1.) Washing Machine Dancers
2.) Penis Dancers
3.) The FOB dancers (the horny middle eastern dudes)
4.) Transvestites
5.) Crackheads
6.) Drama with guestlists (why doesnt Spundae ever have problems with that?)
7.) The lines. (why doesnt Spundae ever have problems with that?)
8.) That stupid VIP section that makes the rest of the crowd feel inferior.
9.) The crowd is too "Hollywood", which makes you feel like the people are just there to hook up, rather than enjoy the music.
10.) Atleast 50% of the crowd doesn't even understand the music or know what DJ is playing
