Does anyone know why Avalon doesn't pat people down at all?

I don't think so. people of all types have done various drugs for thousands of years for infinite reasons. Just because someone comes on here spewing the DARE message doesn't mean they're right. People who's existance is based around the nexy high or drug, are typically the crackheads ruining peoples nights, or even the fabric of society. Other people who work hard and are very responsible and hit a little something a few times a month during a huge party, are not part of that other group.
Also we're all perfectly aware of what we're posting on these boards and will be the ones dealing with any repercussions based on that. You bring a good vibe man, and I don't mean any disrespect, but there's conversations like this on any board covering any subject- I'm going to say what i want on these oh so innocent trance boards

Its one thing to be irresponsible and up irl but this is the interent, a place that doesnt actually exist. Even if soemone does say that they take every drug on the planet, thats not exactly hard evidence for authorites. And while I dont necessarily condone peoples drug use, I also dont think its right to bash them about it.

I guess they assume that everyone entering "Classy" or above bringing in a weapon of some sort. ICE has never patted me down either... and I'm Mexican :wtf:

3. The security inside Avalon think they own the world. I have gotten kicked out twice....

The second time, my friend kept digging in his pocket trying to find his stuff...and they searched all of us and got kinda ruff, they didn't find anything on me (they prob just wanted to feel my ass)but I had to leave because they found the stuff he couldn't find in his pocket.

LOL. That's funny/sad.

I had an experience once at Avalon with their "world class" security.

I went in to a stall to take a dump (yes, I know how much it sucks to have to do that at a club, believe me). When I come out, a security meat-head is standing there holding his flashlight like he's ready to whack me with it.

"What were you doing in there?", he said.

I said; "Taking a dump".

He says; "No you weren't, I saw you fiddling with your pockets"

I said; "I was taking a dump! Can't you smell it?"

:stongue:

WTF was he doing looking in on me taking a dump for anyway? That's technically illegal I think (invasion of privacy).

Needless to say, they searched me and found nothing.

BTW TSG:

Love your avatar on this board, lol. ;)

AMEN! i agree. vanguard was the first LA club i went to and i loved it.

and on topic avalon i like the club itself its just as woody said it. too many people are strung out. i dont have a problem with x and ganja but this meth/coke/etc type stuff is where they need to draw the line. they need to kick them out. the washing machines at avalon can get bad at times but they dont bother me that much until they get really big. as others said too the lines are rediculous. circus gets them through quickly. cant say the same about avalon. now i havent been there since want tickets took over so cant speak for after but before it was horrible.
Cool1g
i think its a bad idea to talk about doing drugs at a club b/c its known that the DEA and other similar types surf message boards like this looking for evidence of drug use so that they can bust clubs.

I'd bet that other Hollywood bars and clubs have just as many people on something (more likely Coke), but they don't go around posting that on message boards.

I personally don't care what one does as long as it doesn't intrude on me.

To critize the Avalon security b/c they kicked you out for smoking or whatever is stupid. Security did its job - you were doing something illegal and they took action. The last thing we need is Circus and Avalon having problems like the NYC clubs had recently.

6.) Drama with guestlists (why doesnt Spundae ever have problems with that?)
7.) The lines. (why doesnt Spundae ever have problems with that?)
8.) That stupid VIP section that makes the rest of the crowd feel inferior.
9.) The crowd is too "Hollywood", which makes you feel like the people are just there to hook up, rather than enjoy the music.
10.) Atleast 50% of the crowd doesn't even understand the music or know what DJ is playing

Wow!

I totlay argree with you 100% Girl!
Everytime I go to Avalon now there seems to be a whole slue of washers. They used to be bad At Spuunde but that has changed. The washers at Avalon get in your way and they do not care. Sooo Annoying.

I also hate hate the Penis Dancers... for a clarifactaion these are the boys that like to rub their penis against a girls ass and or get right in your face and start doing it :whip:

The Horny Men thing is a reallllllllll turn off and Vibe Killer. I feel that a lot of people go there to get F-up and then hook up and that is it. They do not care who the DJ is or prob even like the music.

LOL at the Transfestites and Crackheads!:haha: Crackheads are everywhere there. It feels like 80% of the people are on something...

I have not had issues with the Guest list.. Well one Time I did b/c it was not Alden and the gril running it was SLOW. But the Guest list line does get HUGE!! And the wait does sometimes suck.

The Lines! OMG! I get that Avalon wants to play the line game to make the club look like it is the place to be and go too. But if you say doors are going to be open at 9. Open them at 9. If there is going to be a concert the same night as a Giant event let people know what time the door opens. Waiting 30-45 minutes really sucks!

VIP= a waste of Money most of the time imo... 1000 for a table for a 2 bottle mininum and the bottles are 200-300 each!!! WHY??? Srsly why??
Ok so you get a palce to sit down and a table. Woopie do!

The hollywood crowd. Avalon is So Hollywood. I always feel.. fat, ugly, under Dressed and poor when I go there. I do not feel myself at all.I see a lot of Fake girls there too. Guys too. ICK.

I also do not like the lay out of Avalon. There is no place for Fresh air. To get air you have to walk thew Crackhead ally and or go upstairs. Suffering threw all the smoke ICK!

Everyone is always raving about the soundsystem at Avalon... Ya the Bass kicks ass there but louder dosn't = better. It is a great system but not amazing. Not the best....

I go where the music is good... too me Avalon dosn't bring the tallent I like to see... Spundae does.

Yeah, the meth and coke heads are all over the place getting in peoples faces, sweating buckets, and looking for trouble.

^Classic oxymoron^

This is actually my first post on this site. After reading the subject of this thread and reading several posts, I felt compelled to put in my two cents.

When I first got into the EDM club scene, I went to Spundae @ Circus exclusively. Then when Avalon opened its doors, I started going there because the crows at Spundae had become way too Asian for me. (When I say "Asian," I'm referring to all the negative qualities that have been mentioned in this thread.)

I'm an older Asian female who sincerely enjoys listening and DANCING to most types of EDM. The key word here is "DANCING." When I go to a DANCE club, I'm going there TO dance, not to watch, not to pick up, not to get e-tarded, etc. My experience with Avalon is that I canNOT dance, even when I want to. Avalon packs the people in so as to make it such an unenjoyable experience. The only time I've ever danced ON the actual dance floor at Avalon was when they first opened their doors. After the first year, I was lucky to find a 2X2 space somewhere off the dance floor. Nothing is more infuriating than to hear a great dance song, really feel the beat within, and then not be able to let loose. I mean, it's frustrating!! And then when you throw in all those Asians who are cracked out of their heads bumping into you constantly everywhere (bathroom, dance floor, bar, EVERYwhere), the enjoyment of your surroundings completely diminishes. As an Asian woman, I'm completely appalled and embarrassed by the behavior of my fellow Asians. Because my last few experiences at Avalon have been equally disappointing, I have chosen NOT to go there anymore, regardless of who's DJ'ing. It saddens me when I see a favorite DJ spinning at Avalon and I don't go, but this is a choice that I have made.

I am, however, frequenting Spundae again. Yes, you still have the Asian element and the not-so-desired DJ's there, but at least I know I will ALWAYS have some room to dance and I won't be pushed around or stepped on there. Maybe I've been lucky throughout these years, but I don't recall ever a time where I experienced anything but politeness and friendliness and happiness at Spundae.

Thanks for listening ......
