I don't drink alcohol for religious reasons...I used to dabble with Mike's Hard in my gino years but I have always hated beer and wine.
However, I was at a business lunch the other day where we were trying to wine and dine this prospective client and my boss ordered a bottle of Italian "Amarone Valpolicella":
Normally I say no, but the client was insisting we celebrate so I asked the waiter to pour like a 10th of the wine glass (LOL he spilled more on the table trying to be careful than he did in my glass :p)
...and I tasted it...and WHOA!!! It was SOOOOOOOOo good!!!! I couldn't believe it!! You could actually taste the grapes in it!!! :eyespop:
I tried many a fine wine in France when I was living there and I hated them all--this was an absolute rarity for me!!! I'll be buying a few of these bottles when I go to Montreal for F1 week! :) (Thank you LCBO!!!)

hhmm i like very sweet white wines... im not a fan of wine at all and i hate red wine...
the reason i hate red wine is because of its dry taste, and because i was one time in a after-party and this guy gave me a mix of whiskey and red wine and i nearly died that day... |

June 23-25 (I'll be there from June 18, though). I'm a huge F1 fan and this is my first time going the Canadian Grand Prix (haven't been able to afford the $300 tix before! ;)) |

PLUS IN ONE!!!
But then I tried this Amarone stuff and it had this sweet, juicy, grapey aftertaste and I was like HOLY !!!!!
Dude, you have to give one of these a test run...just one sip and I'm sure you'd like more (because you hate wine for the same reason I did) |

I see what you are saying and you are right. Some of the red wines I've tasted are really dry. Personally I too prefer white wines compared to red but some of the red's are something you have to try. Definitely try a Madeira, atleast 5 year old ones. The older the better but they're more expensive... |

Really am a fan of whites coming out of new zealand
I've also had some great reds out of chile
pinot grigio, pinot noir, occassionaly a chardonnay
merlot out of oregon/california isn't that bad either (2000 too!)
oh and why?
I find wine much more easier to drink with my food then say beer. Also depends on the types of food I'm eating. Beer goes exceptionally well with BBQ.
I stick to the usual trends
whites with seafood
reds with steaks
sangria when i'm outdoors (puerto rico....i miss youuuu) |

Im not a huge fan of white wine but i love my reds. Aussie Shiraz' would have to be my pick of the lot and rosemont estate my fav label.
But i recently tried a 2003 Pinot Noir by Mcmurray and I have to say i really really liked it. Sadly i cant seem to find it at any of the liqour stores i tried.
Ports are also really good but this is one wine where the cheap stuff must be avoided. |

living in the wine area of france ....i always had the culture of wine but i don't like it .....actually i like white wine ...like a good mont bazillac ....i don't refuse it .For my 20's birthday my parents opened this magnum of chateau Labegorce Zédé 1985...and i found it so good that i drank several glasses .I tried as well chateau pétrus and yeah i like it too.
I tried spanish wine one or 2 times and i don't like it too strong in alcohol for me so yeah i just stick myself with bordeaux's wines ...;) |

Sangria
Mostly because of the sweetness, I occasionally drink Rosé too.
