Your best bet is to find a big liquor store around you, and see if they have a wine tasting event, which many do every couple months. Many times, you can go there and sample over 20 different wines, and gauge what you want based on those samples.
|
another good way is to find a nice restaurant in the area and see if they have wine tastings. |

Pesquera Ribera Del Duero Reserva, Either from 1999 or 2001.
Spanish Tempranillo, absolutely sublime. Quite expensive but my favourite of the Spanish reds. Honestly, at least try and get a bottle of the 1997,1999 or 2001 at least once in your life with a good meal. It's the definition of great wine. |
just checked if they sold them here and they just have 1996, 98, 2002 |

Buy the 2002 and wait two years... Should be nice. I cant remember correctly, but i dont think the 1998 was great. Or it might need a few more years...
Adi26, you got the Pesquera? Awesome... |

i dont really give a crap as long as it's red and medium-light bodied. the only white i like is pinot grigio...i don't like that woodsy white wine flavor like chardonnay (sp?). i like a sweeter, more crisp white. for the most part though, i'm all about red. i like pinot noirs and i like shiraz too. as long as it doesn't have too much of that bite, it's all good.
i dont really like drinkig too much red wine though, i get really emotionally drunk off it for some reason. anyone else have that problem? |

happens to the best of us...i find it helps if you're around positive people, and with stuff to do, instead of a low-key evening with nothing to do except sit around and think about .
ewwwww but no more boxed wine for me.
