btw, anyone have a recommendation btwn scanner darkly, superman and pirates? haent seen any and plan on seein something this weekend..

Watch A Scanner Darkly, its most likely the best out of the three...

I myself watched Pirates earlier this week, then SUPERMAN RETURNS IMAX 3D last night. I can't judge how Pirates 2 was because I never watched the first one -- but i heard from many ppl that the first one was MUCH better. NO. 2 was somewhat of a fun movie though

If u want to watch a big studio film, I would say go watch SUPERMAN -- how im undecided about whether you *absolutely* have to watch it on IMAX. The movie definitely did benefit from being on that giant screen though -- best if you sit in the back or close to it.

I would recommend watching it if you're a fan of the entire Superman saga like I am (comics and tv). Bryan Singer DEF pays homage to the first two in many moments  As soon as the intro credits rolled onscreen and the score started to play, I was smiling like a fool - being silly. It def wasn't a bad film, altho it could have been done better. The story def drew me in though.

Drew thought Superman was only ok -- hes more of a Batman devotee **shruggs**

hmm when *DOES* the Fountain come out? somehow i missed that...

Not interested in Pirates, saw Superman yesterday it wasnt horrible the first half of the movie really drags. Too many cheesy romance scenes instead of more super hero action scenes. Saw the first 24 minutes of a scanner darkly and I am def going to see it, Ive been waiting on that release for months.

What is Fountain?, never heard of it.

Loved 'A Scanner Darkly' and 'POTC:DMC'.

I want to catch 'Little Miss Sunshine' this week. Can't wait for the release of 'The Science of Sleep'.

Hey, go back to your Michael Bay movies..

Got back from the movies an hour or so ago.

What can I say?

I laughed. I smiled a lot. Almost brought a tear to my eye a few times. Left the movie theater with a wide grin on my face. This movie starts out a bit slow (according to my buddy who came along with me - I didn't really notice all too much) but has you familiarized with all the members of Olive's family in no time. And that's where the magic is. The characters all have their ups and downs and you're with them alongside, pretty much the entire time.

Little Miss Sunshine?

Recommended for the average movie goer. Highly recommended for the person that's looking for a quality, thought-provoking and emotional flick.

Also looking forward to viewing "The Namesake", when it comes out. :)

yo, saw this on fri. with akko and gramps and i must say i was really surprised how good it was.

being a kevin smith fan, i hoped it would be good, but i knew it'd be hard to follow up to the classic original.

I WAS WRONG. this is one of the funniest flick i seen in a theatre in a long ass time. it had the whole theatre dying from beginning to end.

the writing is classic kevin smith style and he delivers all the goods. simple story and not convincing at times but thats not the point, its the dialog and chemistry between the actors that shine thruout the movie.

jay mimicing the silence of the lambs' buffalo bill is PRICELESS.

rosario dawson looks a bit out of place but you forget that real quick as she does her thing.

all the cameos were on point too. if youre a fan of the original and/or a fan of kevin smith's work, you will not be dissapointed. peace.

^^think i'll check it out now..had my doubts since the first one is really hard to follow...thought the 2nd would be a bust...

bein a big horror movie geek, i went to go see "The Descent" last night..the director neil marshall got famous off a small B-horror movie called "Dog Soldiers" which was pretty good for what it was..looks like he got much more to work with this time around, and it shows..descent is def one of the best horror films this year...good set up, verry little cheese and lots of moments where you jump/squirm in your seat..:nervous: ...wont spoil it for anyone, but its basically about a group of girls from britain that reunite in the states at some cabin in the mountains..they're adrenaline junkies lookin to explore some caves..and from there on it all goes to

not too much dialogue, which is better than terrible dialogue..u get a very palpable sense of claustrophobia as they start gettin down into the caves and you realize how screwed they are with every little mistake..the creatures are pretty brutal, there are lots of moments that remind you of the first "Alien" movie...small spaces, close encounters and LOTS of darkness..:nervous:...overall some goood horror for anyone whos into that stuff :p
