cause that's so important when the U.S. in its history (and present) supports and often enables totalitarian regimes....

great reasoning.
Dirichlet
I found the interview of Michael Berg (father of son Nicholas Berg who was purportedly beheaded by Al-Zarqawi) to be quite interesting...

Definately better reasons then "to kill Osama"

If we wanted him that badly, there are also much simpilar($5.8 Billion cheaper) ways to do so.

The war isnt just about getting Bin Laden. And i am curious what are YOUR cheaper ways?

Another turtle? Can you lefties stay on topic EVER? You are not even worth talking to. Once i beat you on your above point you will then come back at me with something the US did in 1970. There is no hope for someone like yourself.

Talk of assassination

During a meeting between Ahmed and Eastham on November 28, 1998, just days after the Taliban's supreme court cleared bin Laden of terrorist activities, Ahmed said one possibility "would be for the U.S. to kill him or arrange for bin Laden to be assassinated."

Ahmed "said that the U.S., if it chose to do so, could arrange to have bin Laden killed by cruise missiles or other means, and there would be little the Taliban could do to prevent it," according to the documents.

Another alternative, Ahmed said, would be for the United States to provide the Taliban with cruise missiles to have "the situation resolved in this way." Ahmed also noted that expelling bin Laden likely would result in the Taliban regime being overthrown, according to the documents.

And while Ahmed suggested a possible assassination of bin Laden, he also "urged the U.S. not to bomb Afghanistan again" as Washington did in the weeks following the embassy bombings. Ahmed "asked instead for a new U.S. proposal aimed at resolving the matter," the documents said.

Do you believe Cnn?

yes i do....but blame Clinton for that mistake.
Greedy
well even though there will be others trying to take his place, this dude WAS the head guy so that itself is important. No one really knows whats going to happen because you can say is just gonna get worse, or you can also say that AQ will just be disorganized.

but even though there will be others trying to take his place, if they go about doing stuff al-zarqawi did, we'll get them too.

euphoria
I dont really want to jump into a debate with anyone but I will say this...

There is a punishment for every crime, he got what he deserved. I would rather him dead than to pay for him to get 3 squares and a cell to sleep in.
