| And Portugal finishes off Angola 1-0. A quick goal and some offensive flurries in the first 7 minutes or so made it look like we could be in for a rout, but the goal in the 5th minute turns out to be the difference... |

| i think it's kind of strange that north america is like the only country in the world that doesn't get into soccer. is it because our society programmed us that way? haha i just cannot get into it for some reason, yet i'm totally glued to the NBA finals. lol |

if i had coverage of the NBA i'd watch it more often, however it's the first time Australia has played in the world cup in 32 years so tonight it's soccer FTW! (soccer isn't a big sport in Australia at all, except at world cup time - everyone is all of a sudden a fan  )
the japs definitely have the better hairstyles >.< |

I think it's one of those things that you need to see to appreciate. Granted, you're from Miami, so you're obviously going to be following the NBA right now. But I just got back from Berlin for the weekend, and that whole COUNTRY is going nuts. We got in Friday night right as Germany was sealing their first victory, and everyone took to the streets chanting and waving flags. It was the best night of my life, so much fun. Blows American sporting events out of the water, and there hadn't even been a game IN Berlin yet.
There were makeshift markets and camps for international souveniers and food everywhere, with every other person on the street flaunting their nation's colors. I've never been into soccer in my life, but now I'm hooked. |

You have to use Celsius and the Metric System in order to appreciate it.
