Well... not much to say about the first half. England's looked very solid in defense. Not sure what Owen's task is for this game, almost every ball is going to Crouch; him and Cole have been outstanding.
Maybe a sub for Owen in 2nd half? |

what a place to put a ing TV!
the pitch looks stupid with black shade lines everywhere. |

good game by Crouch so far
Beckhams freekicks are so dangerous, even the other team is vulnerable to score |

Well, it's true Owen hasn't done much, but they only have Walcott as a replacement for him.
I like how Gerrard and Paredes have been battling to be the first to put the ball out of the stadium. :p Paredes is a pretty good player, did great when he was at Porto. |

England started out very well in the first couple of minutes and created a couple of corners and freekicks.
Paraguay had a lot of unlucky incidents, First Gamarra scores a own goal, then the goalkeeper gets injured and has to be substituted.
There has been some good indications on play from England side, but they just haven't got it through like they wanted it. I also think they're crossing too many balls at Crouch who's won them pretty easy, but Paraguay changed their tactics and let him win the balls now while they take up the marking.
Valdez and Paredes has been good in Paraguay while the rest of the teams is playing pretty bad.
It's a pretty boring game.
If I was Paraguay's coach, I would bring on Nelson Cuevas instead of Santa Cruz who hasn't impressed or done anything, if he doesn't do anything until the 60th-65th minute, I would surely give Cuevas the chance, He's a good substitute. |

Well if Owen doesn't do by the 15th minute I'd give the young kid a chance just to shake things up... Paraguay should be trying to move their lines so more spaces might be created for England.
I have to admit though if it wasn't for that slip from A. Cole Paraguay wouldn't have had any scoring opportunities in the first half, it says a lot about how solid England's defense have been... let's not jinx it though lol |

| i'll be honest, we're a bit off the pace. I'm wondering how many of these players have played games with this ball though, passes are going all over the place from both teams |

I'm no england fan, but i did want to watch the game comfortably, not squinting my eyes every time they move the camera from shade to light etc. |
