It's a win, 3 points I'll take that, thankyou very much. No point dwelling on the game as England often play their best football against good teams.

pretty much sums it up. we were poor but we got the job done. After owen went off we were useless upfront cuz there was no one running or holding the ball up, that meant constant pressure on the midfield and the defence. Im sure we will sort it out for the other games.

lol England needed Paraguay's own goal to win the match, England's team that has been predicted with a good chance to win the cup could not even score a goal of thier own against the lesser of the South American Teams.

i'm pretty sure it could have gone in either way

Two humps, two Ms :D

Besides, I didn't want to pay royalties to a certain brand of cigarettes. And it was too late at night, and I didn't realise the mispelling until two days later :p

Paraguay?? Most experts consider them the best team in south america behind Brazil and Argentina. Most physical team in the continent with an european style of playing.

And let's be serious, England was the better team on the pitch today vs. Paraguay... whether Paraguay looked rather awful at times, maybe it was the english defense who forced them to look that way, they only had like 2 or 3 goal chances and I might be wrong because England's defense was all over them.

Like I said, starting against one of the most physical teams in the cup and getting a win, it doesn't get any better than that. Still room for improvements on the attacking side, no doubt about it, but England's defense was on the spot... unlike the german one and their clown offside strategy, now that's a joke

Well some teams dont match up great againts other, and plus its the first game. A win is a win :D so you cant rule out England out of winnin the whole thing.

paraguay must be good because they host 2 bayern players :tongue3
roqueeeeee santa cruz and dos santos
england is also not bad because they own owen heargreaves :)

The Darklord
The 1st half England deserved to win. The 2nd half one... should have suffered a goal and stayed with a point.
