I saw this coming.
Australia outplayed Japan in the second half to, and even though Japan was playing well, they just didn't have the strength to keep this 0-1 lead.
Guus Hiddink substituted Cahill, Aloisi and Kennedy, they were the final factor why Australia won this game together with Japans strength.
Tim Cahill scored that 1-1 goal that gave the Aussies a lot of strength to go for another goal. That's Kawaguchi's goal, unfortunately the best player in Japan became the unlucky one. But just before the 2-1 goal, beautiful one btw, Japan was robbed on a penalty kick after Tim Cahill stopped Komano on the right side.
Tim Cahill took a turnaround though, and scored the so important 2-1 goal which lead Australia in total euphoria. Also, John Aloisi passed to that goal, and finally stroke the last shot into the back of Kawaguchi's net.
Fantastic effort by the Aussies.
Something that comes to my mind is that whenever I cheer for someone, I always end up dissapointed in the end. Ah well, Congrats to Australia, Looking forward to the game against Croatia. |

| in the end, the 3-1 flattered australia, japan weren't that bad & had cahill's tackle been deemed a foul (and a 2nd yellow card followed) it could have been so different. A good game to watch overall. |

This is why football can be so divided, it surely looks and is a great effort by the Aussies. But it could've ended the other way to.
Clearly the best game in the World Cup so far, the most exciting at least.. |

| Best game so far but tbh, no-one wants to see australia's brand of bruising football in this tournament, thankufully they've been drawn with two very good sides in croatia and brazil and will be knocked out in the groups. |

possibly the biggest upset in this World Cup
aside with T&T's tie with Sweden. Unbelievable!:) |

| it was a good game but not the best, Japan only have themself to blame as they had numerous chances to punish australia on the counter -attack. |

| I've always wondered... does this "aussie, aussie, aussie, oi, oi, oi" have some specific rhythm or melody? |

We'll see..
Croatia vs. Australia is going to be the keygame for Guus Hiddinks men. Don't forget that it's a small derby ;) |
