I think it's fairly impossible to make a unanimous descision, cuase we kinda have different styles we prefer. That's the whole point of having multiple judges ...
but if dumonde and fox agree with your proposal, i'm in off course ...

it is hard and sometimes we may give the wrong rating to each person. the best idea i reckon is this, we chose or fave and award them points like F1 scoring system, example
1st - 10 points
2nd - 6 points
3rd - 4 points
4th - 3
5th - 2
6th - 1
i thin kit is easiest to pick which we liek best then second best etc rather than rate them all, coz there is no definitive guidlines to what is a 10 value mix etc. this way we add up the points each mix got off the four judges and work out the winners, 2nd 3rd overall that way! what do you think? it saves a lot of discussion betwene us judges as well, and counts for people diffy tastes letting them rate how they want? |

lemme explain our scoring system
we graded EACH mix on 4 different fields. Each field had a max of 25 points. added, this score gives a % for that mix
the 4 fields where
- track selection
- beatmatching
- transition harmonics
- personal score
Afterwards, all the TOTAL scores are added, and devided by the amount of judges.
We sort these scores, and that is our final list.
We did it like this, so the mixers could see at wich field they lost points ...

yeh but that way it makes it really complicated, specially out of 25. and people may get diffy marks for track selection dependent on tastes. i mean, it is a competition so it shouldnt really matter where they know they went wrong, but hey whatever else you others want it doesnt matter to me. and i mean, i cudnt really rate beatmatching outta 25, i cud say it was perfect, good, ok or crap... hmm but we'll see. |
