it _is_ cable.....heh, i'm never going back to 56k :)
its like 400k down & 40k up (which would be 40k down and 400k up for you guys).
however, apparently there's some problems accessing it. i'm working with Cyrax to remedy the issues ASAP. If push comes to shove, the contest deadline *may* have to be pushed.... |

have you actually got any of the sets uploaded to the ftp yet.
because:
74 minutes of mp3 @ 192 (is it?) means 110 meg approx per set. 110 x 20 people is 2200 meg
is the ftp gonna be able to handle apr. 2.2 gigs worth of bandwidth within the next 10 days?!
lemme think:
apr. 220 meg per day
apr. 10 meg per hour
ah yeh itll be fine hehe, my old 33k modem used to d/l 10 meg an hour ;)
when is the ftp going to be ready for uploads though?
edit: im working up on setting up my own ftp which would be good if you wanted to host a few sets on mine (512k upload for competitors and 128k download for judges) but i wont get round to doing it proper until the weekend :) |

i'm working on it...apparently Cyrax is still having problems. There's nothing i can do to test it while at home, so i'm waiting for people to help me test (i.e. my friends, etc)
if any of you have icq/aim/yahoo/msn and want to help test this, give me a shout.

thanks to the generous support of ravemonkey (thanks m8), i've got the server working. Cyrax will fill in the details of the server + the client options that need to be set for transfers to work. Make sure to PM him when your mixes are complete.
hopefully no more issues will arise, touch wood *knocks head* :) |

im done. just pm'ed cyrax for the details, and gotta convert to mp3..:) slight change to the tracklist, and with my comp i cant do cue files (or use them either)
so you'll have to figure out the transitions yourself ;)

| Mines done, fine-tuned and uploaded. I included an .nfo file as I tried using mp3cutter but couldn't get it to work/run :(. |

i've limited my server to only allow one download at a time. so only one judge at a time will be able to download...this is to keep bandwidth use down. uploading is the same. one at a time.
sorry if this is a bother, but i want to keep bandwidth usage down so my ISP doesn;t go nuts. |

ok ive spoek to cyrax and grabbed the first set already (THC's). the ftp is fast enough i was getting 35k/s avarage.
so the judge downlaod speed must be faster than 60kbps? or did you mean 60k/s before?
but hey trust me its fast enough! :) |
