If Madrid fail to win anything this year , they will be an even bigger laughing stock than this year when they lost in straight sets (6-2) to Barcelona. Oh my bad , i forgot that was a football match :p
In any case, personal support aside , Manchester United seems to be the only club funding transfers out of their own past earnings that stemmed from their modern day success.
Chelsea and Manchester City , not to many complaints because the signings are coming out of their owners wealth so if they screw up , the owner loses his personal income. However, Madrid is a completely bastardizing the system by forcing banks to lend them the money to make these signings. There is absolutely no way that they can pay this sum back given that all these players they signed are easily on 120k+ a week salaries in addition to their massive transfer fees and no amount of success can repay that much money spent in a single season.
Its going to be an interesting season for sure. |

recently not but historically the MOST successful club in the world. I think it is easy to criticize RM because we didn't win CL's in the last 7 years and we didn't play quarters in the last 5 years but between 1997-2002 we have won the same CL's than Manutd in 50 years more or less.
Stop crying for Real Madrid. Ferguson wanted and ofered for Karim more than RM but he prefers to play here. Why? The same as Cristiano. The weather, the people and much more is important, yes i know. We have these advantages respect to England.
I hope we can sign David Silva, Ribéry, Xavi Alonso and Arbeloa. 90 millions left.

Lol all these signings and you guys are still hungering for more. You do realize that you have a squad of 22 players already half of whom will need to be offloaded in order to balance the books. Clubs are aware that madrid are desperate to sell and everyone will be gone for cheap.
Im still very surprised at the pulling power of Madrid that makes players want to play there over Manchester United or Barcelona. They dont care about players or managers and treat them like fashion - in this year out the next. Salary wise United and Barca can match madrid for the most part and more importantly - both have enjoyed far more success than Madrid have in the past. Theres obviosuly something that i dont know about Madrids appeal, but whatever it is , it sounds shady. |

I don't know whether its been mentioned but sepp blatter's reaction to the amount of money madrid are spending in contrast to his subsequent criticism of the level of spending in the EPL makes for some comedy reading..
Look it up. ;) |

The disadvantage of that is it's not easy to unloaded unwanted players (Sneidjer for example) |

lol and Platini as well.
When United and Chelsea were picking up everyone around, Platini was all over the place voicing his concerns that England are ruining the game and that salary caps are badly needed and also to implement stricter restrictions about poaching youngsters from other clubs.
With Madrids spending spree (which pretty much dwarfs what United and Chelsea have spent combined in 3 seasons) Platini stated that Ronaldos fees was excessive and the transfer fees are a bit of a concern.
No statements of we need to implement stricter controls or introduce a salary cap at the earliest. Bloody double standards  |
