"Merezco jugar y ser titular. Eres un sinvergüenza. No tienes vergüenza. Yo di la cara por ti en la Roma y así me lo pagas...". Durante las tres campañas que el delantero coincidió con Capello en el club romano marcó 36 goles en 104 partidos.
A pesar de la tensión del momento, el técnico no le contestó y se dio media vuelta para evitar males mayores, aunque algunos jugadores sí le recriminaron las quejas después de lograr un triunfo.
Conocedor de su castigo, Cassano saltó ayer al césped de Valdebebas minutos después que el resto de sus compañeros y se ejercitó en solitario. Su sonrisa no le hacía parecer muy afectado. Se dedicó a dar unas vueltas al campo y, al acabar la sesión, se marchó con el mismo talante: bromeó con los amigos que le acompañan, no saludó a la prensa (como es habitual) y se fotografió con los aficionados. Después almorzó en el mesón Txistu junto a Cannavaro.
A última hora de la tarde, Miguel Ángel Arroyo, portavoz de la Junta Directiva, compareció tras la reunión de la misma y explicó que el club ha abierto un expediente sancionador a Cassano cuya resolución, "con carácter ejemplar", no se conocerá hasta dentro de unos quince días.
Arroyo desveló que la decisión de apartar a Cassano del equipo la tomó el director deportivo, Pedja Mijatovic, a instancias de Capello, por su "actitud agresiva y descortés". El propio Mijatovic fue el encargado de comunicar en persona la noticia tanto al delantero como al resto de sus compañeros. "El Madrid está por encima de cualquier jugador", se limitó a decir Mijatovic a Cuatro.
Arroyo aclaró que "las medidas finales" del expediente sancionador valorarán el informe de Fabio Capello, así como el de Pedja Mijatovic y el del propio implicado.

ok, it sucks that hes getting cut back. Cassano is one of my favorite players and he hasnt gotten much chance to play in Madrid which pisses me the off. I know he was out of shape, but ffs...he seems in good condition now. I want him to play god dammit. |

Cassano will have to learn discipline before he can start playing in a bigger club, and he also needs to respect his manager and give him time. Normally, many players work their ass off just to play a couple of minutes in the end of a game, but Cassano obviously thinks he's something special, So I wonder, Why hasn't he shoed a in Real Madrid yet?
He never should've left for Real Madrid in the first place, and we all knew this was a major disaster of a transfer from the beginning. |

Sucks that this had to happen right now... specially when things were getting better, not because of the results but because of the whole environment and energy surrounding our team, yes team. It's not easy to create that feeling in such a squad filled with super stars and high egos. My hope is Cassano apologizes to the team, manager and us the fans, because this can't affect the whole chemistry that was getting built so nicely around the team.
