here's my review from last night.
i got there at around 10 o'clock, it was still a little bit of a light outside. i was amazed by the sheer size of the club. it was huge! there were four areas, one of them was closed off. they played trance, house, progressive in the largest area, which was almost like a stadium. hardstyle, hardcore in smaller area and the entrance room was just for chilling out and there was no music. the decor was also top notch. it was a mix of renaissance architecture with modern gothic.
the opening and closing dj in trance area was so-so. he played pretty mediocre house and progressive with some good tracks. when it was time for trance, he played a lot of borderline-cheese tracks, including some good ones, like cosmic gate - firewire, cosmic gate - the drums, energy 52 - cafe del mar, age of love - age of love and many others. toward the end, he spun some of the burnt-out hard house, which was considered cheesy long time ago.
when talla came on, there was an obvious difference. better, newer, energetic tracks. he just kept you dancing and you didn't wanna venture elsewhere. some of the tunes he played were marcel woods - advanced, s.o. project - direct dizko (sander van doorn remix), tiesto - adagio for strings (??? remix), binary finary - 1998 (some oldskool remix) and other awesome tunes. he only played for little bit more than an hour, which was a rip-off. :whip:
in the hard room it was simply a butchery :wtf:. the opening and closing dj played just harcore at around 170 bpm or so. when warmduscher came on, there was again, an obvious difference. first of all, he played a lot of awesome hardstyle, some hardcore and it was a little slower. some tracks were access - hostel, dj millo - ing trip on xtc (thilo markwort joins 2 stylerz mix), citizen - members of gayday, isaac vs. zany - what u need?, the kgb's - infinity and many others. he also played for a little bit more than an hour, which also pissed me off. especially, when the closing dj continued playing mindless hardcore at gazillion bpm.
overall, it was quite nice, many good tunes but really short set times from the headliners. hopefully the next show will be better. oh and there were plenty of trance-loving, hot ladies as well. i could honestly say that i was not in koblenz anymore. ;)
trains schedules were ed up the next morning, so i had to wait for two hours in freezing weather. at hennef, the train station is completely outdoor. :whip: i can't wait 'till it gets warmer in here.
right now, we have an equivalent to a spring break, so i have plenty of time to around :D |
