heh... I'll take the opportunity to ask for laptops around $2,500 to $3,000...
I have an idea of what I want, something around 120 GB HD, 1GB RAM at the very least, somewhere around 3GHz or 3.2 GHz, with DVD/CD burner, am I being realistic in terms of money?. I have been looking at the HP's model, but I don't want something that heavy, I've got a pavilion 5000 and it's a pain having to carry it around.
is Toshiba the way to go?... In terms of brands I mean. |

| My parents are going to get me a new one this year. I got this one for free at my school when I entered (w00t for corporations paying for private education) and its still doing ok, not worth replacing yet, its only a year and a half old. |

| id say dell is the best....for about 1300 canadian i got 120gb hd, 1.5 gb ram, 2ghz clock speed, dvd cd burner, intel centrino duo core processor, n upgraded the sound card n video card to geforce go 7200. not bad id say |

toshibas are the Toyota Hilux of laptops. they'll last a long in time physically. my dad gave me his after 11 years and it still runs Class A. i've dropped a drink on TOP of it and had a drink spill underneat it and now that it was on its way out, i dropped it on purpose and it still chugs on.
ibooks will burn ur house down. |

i suppose since he's gonna be throwing it on the ol' credit card, i shouldn't be worrying about a price range. i was just trying not to overdo it and ask him for a 3k one.
i'm sure i can find a decent one for around 1200 or something at bestbuy. |
