neither nutter or i are sexist morons. we're merely stating what is quite obvious: men are faster & stronger than women. this is why they are separated in sport. that is all.

One thing, that in my opinion, definitively proves that men are below women, is that women didn't feel the need to undermine women for centuries to make themselves feel better about their own shortcomings. |
hahahaha! no, not at all! :haha: lets forget about the entire image industry where beautiful women are making millions of dollars from making other women feel bad about their body image. women never undermine their friends or bitch behind their back either :stongue: |

Comparing that to female suffrage, and gender discrimination for the last how many centuries is beyond idiotic, and quite honestly is insulting.
Men may have the records now in a lot of things, but that has nothing to do with men being superior. It has more to do with the ratio of competitors, and the training received, which is still lopsided in favour of men. My point was that there are women who can come eye to eye with many men in regard to strength, speed, and endurance.
Nutter, I am by no means sexist. I am a firm believer of equality, and oppose discrimination on both spectrums, but I sure as hell don't like men, or women for that matter, that demean a gender or race based on that alone.
EDIT:
Furthermore, I really don't respect people who result to being abbrasive in order to "win" their debate. I refuse to participate in a conversation with someone when it becomes an attack, verbally or otherwise.
Oh, and the whole "beauty industry" is a very weak argument, seeing as it is also very common with men as well as women. |

the subordination of women actually came about because of the inherent differences in gender. men, being stronger and more powerful, became the hunters & gatherers. even in modern times might still makes right on occasion, thus men dominated women when power was all about muscle.
of course its insulting. forms of discrimination always are. but you concentrate on this, but dont think twice about the white woman's domination over the black man. or the queens over their armies. stop holding up women as somehow different in the socio political sphere. they are slower and weaker physically, theyre not inherently better just because they havent abused as much power as men have.

you would be right if you could point at a single woman who is able to eclipse all the men in the very best competition that sport possesses. but you cant. yes, men get more attention and dollars, but thats because men are stronger and faster. sorry.
are you really going to argue that the very best female athletes in the world ALL get less training or opportunities than men? simply not true. so many professional female sportstars make more than enough money to buy the very best. how can you argue otherwise?

tell me how we're demeaning anyone? we're merely pointing out biological fact. if youve got a chip on your shoulder its not our problem.
and, youre hardly going into any of our points to any great degree. same as your 9/11 posts, devoid of substance and full of assumptions that dont make any sense compared to the evidence. |

if you think the beauty industry makes as much money from men as it does women i have no idea where youre getting your funny ideas. thats simply not true. name a high-profile male model. i cant name a single one. but i can name a whole bunch of women. get the point?
are you going to argue that women dont purchase more cosmetics than men?
if its such a "weak" argument, why do so many feminists examine the role of beauty in society? and they do. which you would know if youd done even a little research into feminist theory. |

thats not corrcet.
Women have had the same training opportunities as men for at least the current generation. Actually probably for at least the last few generations of sports people.
Ratio of number of competitors.................. doesn't translate into the level of peak competitors. The peak is always there, no matter what the numbers below are.
In fact having less women will sometimes impove the women as it means they have to train with the men and as sportspeople are competitive (which you wouldn't know cos you obviously haven't played sport at a decent level) the women will try to "stay with" the men, so will be training harder.

See, this is what is bugging me. You are making the assumption that women are slower and weaker physically, given that all men are at their peak forms, according to a few records we have seen from a very select group. However, in the grand scheme of things, women are equally able to be stronger and faster than men, as men are to women (with the exception to some incredible athletes). It all depends on the individual, and quite possibly may show that women, on the whole, if were at peak forms, could average out to be stronger and faster then men, but that is something we will never really know. The fact remains that women are equally abled physically.
You are also making the assumption that I am not taking into consideration the "black people" and other minorities. That is not true, however, in the specific topic at hand, that doesn't directly relate seeing as we are comparing men to women. Stop trying to derail the topic. It's a great way to gain the upper hand of a debate; scatter the conversation so that the other person is scrambling to cover a bunch of things, and not the specifics. Not to mention it gets a little harder when I am the only one trying to respond to more than one person on here at a time.
This has nothing to do with women being better or vice versa, this has to do with certain people believing that, and that is where my problem lies. There are so many people, even women, who abase the quality of women, and many other different kinds of people, and it infuriates me that people really believe this trite.
As for women getting better or worse training? I don't think the training they get is necessarily worse in all cases, (however, I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't as good,) but the problem lies, I think, more in the availabilty and opportunity for women to get further training. I know there are professional training hockey teams available for men here in my city, but there aren't for women. This really impedes the progress of many women in competitive sport. Again, I also come back to the point that "strong" women, and "competitive" women, although tremendously better than it has been, is still not entirely encouraged, and is often seen as "unladylike".
There is a lot of discrimation still going on. Parents will send their little boys to soccer, and send their little girls to piano. It is just this bad trend that society has not quite shaken.
By the way, you really aren't one to talk about making assumptions and making sense. You seem to jump all over the map, and make more than your fair share of assumptions, but as I said, that IS a debating tactic, so nice try :p |
