Interesting topic
I will check back in two days and read the entire thread
jenn and I were having this discussion after Sander Van Doorn's set....a lot of interesting things were said including how we heard so many elements of electro/prog house in SVD's set just twisted with a techy edge ... it was good |

This is where it gets confusing, I'm less describing ONE song but rather a style. Karlo hit the head on the nail, I'm just noticing trends lately in which patterns of melodies (which remind me of trance) are coming back in a huge way.
I'll try to find a song, but I doubt I'll find one that explains what I mean entirely. I'm more just saying, "yo check this trend".
edit: I think I should also narrow down my argument to saying that "trance elements are finding their way into HOUSE-like songs". As people are getting confused. lol Trance is still being played everywhere, but it doesn't make it trendy haha (this thread is going to get nasty) |

I've always loved the melodic sounds in house. |

What he means is that melodies are coming back. Not 'Trance' per se, but musical elements that actually make a song feel like a song, rather than a few recurring notes and beats for 3-4 minutes.
I think. |
