Thanks for the response. Yep, I've been doing pretty much what you've written. I've been searching every day for the past 3 months, I've tailored my CV to different companies. I never send 'generic' ones.
The whole thing is a pain though. The grad schemes are out my reach 'cos I screwed up my A-Levels, and the experience thing - well that's a conundrum in itself. |
I think you should tailor more than just the cover letter. Objective, wording in your job history or experience to match the needs posted in the description and maybe change the layout.
Layout is BIG, not MS Word layout, I'm talking about a professional layout. If you want I can do a layout for a nominal fee  |

I dropped out of college and make so much money architecting software solutions it's ridiculous! i telecommute for about an hour a day and then I'm free to do whatever I want while still getting paid!
I hope the fact that I'm doing really well in life makes you feel better man. |

| Dont expect to get a real job right away after you graduate. For most people it takes 1-2 years to find a real job after they graduate. 80% of jobs are filled by word of mouth and only 20% is direct application/resume. So your best chance is to find someone you know to help you in. |

how does that work out hourly? seems like a little much
at $20/hr 40 hours a week I'll be making about 40K.....I didn't think nurses make much more |

One of the main reasons college is so helpful, it's not what you learn it's who you meet. I know a lot of dudes inheiriting BIG companies and makin' mad dough- I think a few would hire me based soley upon the fact I'm their friend. :disbelief I suppose this was high school for me, but it's bridging into college. |

Yeah nurses make lots. It all depends who you work for.
It's not hourly, it's salary. My best friend makes 66, 000 a year working through an agency. She works part time. She also holds another part time job for a diff. hospital making 45 bucks an hour.
It IS a lot, that's why I lol'ed.
edit: I'm talking about RNs btw. We make the big bucks. :D |

if I'm not mistaken, here in NYC, alot of the nurses and nurse practioners(sp?) in our hospitals are now unionized...is this the same through out? |
