It reflects poorly on our society that we feel education has failed us if we don't get a job that pays lots of money. Think about all the great people in history, most of them were not wealthy. I've noticed ppl without a college education, are defensive about not having a degree and use the money argument as an excuse. Btw, there is no secret hand shake for college grads, we really don't care whether or not you have a degree. A college degree says that you took the time, money, and effort to better yourself in a particular field of interest. The best investment you can make is in yourself.

it's all about knowing the right people. One of my closest friends father's owns one of the UK's biggest department stores. I keep pushing for him to open one within walking distance from my house & let me be manager but i've had no luck yet :( |

Yeah it's ridiculous. If I were doing it for the money (it's just a perk for me), then I would go down to the states for a few years, like so many nurses here do, after I graduate. But we're in DIRE need for nurses here as well...and I want to give back to MY country first. Heh. |
