People think I am mental cos I start talking to randomers all the time.

I also knocked on all my neighbours' doors when I moved in and pushed invites to a breakfast football party under everyone's doors!

I, too, complained like hell when I got here and for the subsequent year or so about many of the things mentioned in this thread but then I changed my mindset. I try and make a difference.

If 9 out of 10 people I randomly talk to just think I am mental, so be it. But if the 1 out of 10 decides to randomly talk to someone or pay a compliment to 10 other people and that converts another 1, well, we may just be able to have an effect on our culture!

So last night im looking for beba lounge. never been there before.

So there is this guy and 2 girls walking down the street and i ask "excuse me, do you guys know where beba lounge is?"

One of the girls snaps back "uh... its that way" with the snobbiest "you are an idiot" tone ive ever heard. The girl i was with actually said "holy , sorry for asking"

I really have to ask... WTF??? I never usually ask for directions in TO because i usually know where i am going. But damn! that was ing harsh.

I have lived many places in the States and Canada. I find people in TO very rude. The gay community here is horrible.
I don't think there is anyone worse (when is comes to being rude) than wealthy, conservative christians from the US.
Why can't people just be civil to each other?

I find a lot of people just have unrealistic expectations based on a few experiences theyve had somewhere else. Then they are soured when it doesnt go well here.

I know neighbours greated me when i was new in the neighbourhood. but thats not something I use to base the goodness/or coolness of a city on.
